Replacement Samsung Galaxy Note7 users on Sprint can exchange their unit for any other device

Himanshu, 07 October 2016 Samsung Android Sprint
In the wake of a recent fire incident involving a Samsung Galaxy Note7 unit that was deemed to be safe, Sprint is allowing replacement Galaxy Note7 users on its network to trade in their unit for any other device.

"Sprint is working collaboratively with Samsung to better understand the most recent concerns regarding replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones," a company representative said.

"If a Sprint customer with a replacement Note 7 has any concerns regarding their device, we will exchange it for any other device at any Sprint retail store during the investigation window," they added.

As for other carriers, T-Mobile said those with a replacement Galaxy Note7 phone on its network can exchange their unit under the company's buyer's remorse policy that allows customers to return their purchases within 14 days.

There's, however, currently no information on how AT&T and Verizon are handling the situation at their end.

I think people misuse the word "overheat"
For sure your device will heat up when using but that doesn't mean your device overheat
It could be heat up until certain degree, and that's the normal heat your device produce
"Overheat" should only be used when your device produce abnormal heat and high temperature until it is too hot to touch

Please people, PLEASE stop using the word "overheat" just because you feel some warm temperature on your device

received the an email from Maxis today (like finally !!) asking me to double confirm the color i want.

initially opt for Gold but now heart fluttering between Gold or Black
gold seems like exclusive and black is so damn sleek but very norm

which is better ?
can share some of your honest opinions and criticism

originally, i thought the black is really black. unfortunately, the front part (top and bottom) isn't that black. so when screen is off, it's not as flushed as i would have liked it to be...

so... i'd say go with gold!

depends... on what is causing the issue.

if design flaw (maybe some board designed wrongly), then i doubt can be fixed and might just can Note7.

if it's big battery in small space, then slightly better. samsung can decide to put a smaller battery and it's good to go. of course in this case, logically, if ppl not happy with smaller battery, they should be allowed full refund.

however, to answer your Q... it really depends on the findings from investigation. which may take 1-2 weeks.

got feeling it is not the battery problem. Something wrong with the board design or hardware that control the battery. Quickcharge and increasing the battery density, sound like a bad idea now. Quickcharge do damage the battery too.

Prefer smaller battery, more power efficiency. you get better battery life, smaller or lighter phone, charging speed fast. That is the right way.

Agree. Could be something wrong with the motherboard. Many owners faced random bootloop, freeze before in the first batch pre-recalled N7.

if another recall better wait note 8 and regain consumer trust =p

here's my review after 1weeks ++
new note 7 batter seem more battery saving,
i could gain 5~7hours SOT on single charge compare to the 1st one 4~6 SOT.
but also notice the charging speed is slower alot.
wireless charging is now up to 2.5hours++ for full charge,
before usually 1hours and 30minutes will be fully charged.
cable charging also took longer than usual...
if so seem fast charging technology not working on this new note 7 liao.
*i did switch on fast charging for both wired and wireless*

screen colour on this unit seem reddish to me compare to the 1st one,
on a blank white screen,1st one will be more cold coloured white,
current unit is reddish even compare to another 2 units of A7.
*1 A7 greenish screen,1 A7 is ok, replaced note7 is reddish and colour tone diff while looking from diff angle*
wondering is this can be warranty or exchange?

home button build is bad comparing to last time,
cause it's moveable 0.5mm not like the 1st one size fit to the hole...
when light from above cannot see a line of "long kang"
on the new unit can clearly see thru a 0.5mm line which mean hair could possible stuck in home button

main screen for the 1st unit is more smootie buttery smooth and water drop will stick as a round droplet white replaced unit does not keep as round droplet but water repelable.
black glasses as usually do not have the coating.

USB port still the same abit loose not tighten like old micro USB
Spen so far ok without stucking the tips
fingerprint sensor more sensitive compare to 1st one
iris scanner look crispier on 1st unit while current one abit blurry
wondering is infrared or iris camera problem.

conclusion: please don't another recall due to faulty design or something again.
it might feel great when u can keep holding a new phone every month,
but it's troublesome for ppl while some ppl use as working unit,
transfer again again again and again is extra work and some apps does not fully transfer detail, info, file to new units.

Lab test shows how Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explodes

Singapore laboratory applies pressure to fully charged Samsung phone, causing it to smoke and then burn

http://gulfnews.com/business/sectors/techn...lodes-1.1908390

As we knew, samsung did claim that most of the explosion cases were caused by external heat and external pressure. Here comes the question. If pressure could make the phone explode, then how much of pressure should the owners avoid? Some explosion cases indicated that the phone was exploded inside the jean pocket. Was is because of the jean was too tight, hence the pressure and the explode? I know this sound silly. But we all know in many cases Samsung did say the phone exploded due to external force....So confused. Now I wonder what's the real root cause of the explosion cases....

lol... use common sense. Any phone with that pressure will smoke and burn also
*
Of course it's common sense. But you also cannot deny the fact that now many labs are started to be interested to do various tests on a specific phone, which I think it's kind of rare.

I got the same problem.. my replacement unit is warmer/heats up easily even at min load.. also the battery drains faster
After a full charge.. a few minutes of web browsing brings the battery charge to 95%..
My pre-replacement can last 1 hour for a normal browsing..
I will try the clear cache method tonight if it will help..
But the most frustrating of them all is the fast charging not working like last time..
My pre unit takes just 30- 45 minutes to fully charged from empty or almost empty battery..
But now.. it took almost 2 hours from zero vmad.gif
