^You cannot blame people for this. The people that need to be blamed is the marketing departments for such marketing gimmick of big numbers means good.

8ohm is a good setup coz u wont stress the amps... anyway what mid are u using? im using morel mid with soundstream EGA560.1X but the sound not so amazing.... i have tried PUNCH.... the mid like PA system hahahahaha

I'm using the brand that I'm selling, Visaton. I won't change anything for a start, as your "amazing" means nothing to me(a very subjective matter). What I will do is open up the door and check for any leaks on the speaker and the baffle, recheck the gain and crossover cut off points settings. Sometimes a speaker don't sound nice because of such problems. Try that first before deciding to change anything.

Hello fellow sifus !! Need some advice here. =)

I plan to install a carpc using the Intel D510MO motherboard+dual core atom combo. According to the spec from intel, that board only measure 17*17cm. I think it will fit in my existing 2Din dashboard.

However, my concern is the thermal issue... How hot can the interior of our car reach if i park my car under the hot sun? will the motherboard (when powered off) stand up to the heat for the years to come?

As for when the CarPC is operating, i will direct some cold air from the aircon as the cold air ducts sits just right behind of of the 2Din slot.

when parked under hot sun, i think can reach 70 degrees easily. some of my CDs even melted under hot sun. in car is a very hostile enviroment to sensitive equipments.

Added on May 3, 2010, 12:04 ami used my car pc for quite sometime edi without any problem! i also lasy to upgrade coz now it just fine! im using Intel D945GCLF2D with 2gb ram and 500gb hdd just fine and custom industrial ROHS cert monitor.

nop it is not the 1 din size!! it is 2 din size! i can get it about RM980 coz this is the industrial gred! the touchscreen works well either hot or cold! High res 1680*1280

oic..can make it in 1-din size like those 7" motorized screen?

my car can onli put 1-din monitor..
cant find any 1-din high reso monitor at market~n makes i hold my car PC project til nw..

you can buy single din manual in dash braket! dunno brothers still have it or not!
the bracket inside u can fit this monitor

Yeah last time u can buy indash braket but now i dunno which shop still keep!

Normal LCD works different than VGA system. you cant convert normal s video to VGA and expect high quality.

2din Branded HU? VGA? yeah now mostly the branded Head unit is run on higher resolution (so called haha) 480X600.
Car Pc run minimum 800X600

So d industrial monitor confirm can b mod into d bracket la?
