does it means that I will have to install a pc in my car in order to enjoy karaoke?

Added on November 19, 2009, 8:12 pmit is not avaisable to use 7" motorized monitor as it had bad reputation on mechanism fault, unless you are looking for a better quality like xenarc!

i used 7" monitor and embed into my dashboard. you can have a look in my cardomain profile...

so far my car pc if located in the car had not heat problem except in the boot... but it had been solved after installing 2 fans. Vibration is not a problem since the HDD can accept more than 3G vibration! My setup so far so good, im happy with it! the cost of Car PC actually is cheaper than branded Double din (which almost had the same function).. it is a good investment if you love ICE.. coz it can be upgrade anytime as u like with a minimal cost (after u have the base unit) if u r not into IT gadget, then i would suggest u to stick with head unit!

Cheers

haha seems that u have obsessed with fine tune while driving! it had affected me too but now using centrafuse with some plugin allow me to do fine tune too while driving.

you are a truly understanding person! as i say cheaper coz i believe someone will compare with BRANDED china brand later hahahahaha..

if you r lookin for 7" touchscreen monitor i had 1new unit which i bought another one better than that (high res 1080 pix). Im goin to let go at RM600 if anyone interested.

Yes you may have your altec lansing in your car but there iwll be a modification to it! Most of the mosfet amplifiers inside the speaker runs on 12 or 24 volts. If you want to know what is the voltage rating inside your component i would like to help you if you provide Altec Lansing speakers for me to post mortem.

ps: please try not to use inverters in the car because it is ridiculous! wonder how much power you loss between the conversion! loss through heat!

ps: there will be some car pc exhibition in muar and Puchong Utama on this 19/20 dec

Hello fellow sifus !! Need some advice here. =)

I plan to install a carpc using the Intel D510MO motherboard+dual core atom combo. According to the spec from intel, that board only measure 17*17cm. I think it will fit in my existing 2Din dashboard.

However, my concern is the thermal issue... How hot can the interior of our car reach if i park my car under the hot sun? will the motherboard (when powered off) stand up to the heat for the years to come?

As for when the CarPC is operating, i will direct some cold air from the aircon as the cold air ducts sits just right behind of of the 2Din slot.

i used my car pc for quite sometime edi without any problem! i also lasy to upgrade coz now it just fine! im using Intel D945GCLF2D with 2gb ram and 500gb hdd just fine and custom industrial ROHS cert monitor.

bro may i noe more information bout ur 7" touchscreen monitor?
saw ur cardomain website..n seems like ur touchscreen monitor is better den liliput EBY701?
*
Yeah before that im using the liliput... the siput get very hot easily so better put a fan behind the LCD. My LCD resolution can go up to 1980x1280 (or 1680x1024 depend on the vga) Then it also have Video input with reverse camera input cable (so when u reverse ur car, it will switch to camera video input automatically)

Gee.. steven, you should've offered me before I got that Lilliput EBY701 smile.gif But for now, I'm happy with the lilliput ..

Plugins? None at the moment, only one installed .. for GarminPC smile.gif Still looking for things to be added .. I'm using the Clean skin .. not that nice ah, any nicer skin to replace it? smile.gif

What probably the final stuffs I need to put/get working:

1. Rear cam, either go directly to the EBY701 with auto switching mod or to get those cheap USB video grabber and have it embedded into centrafuse cam.
2. OBD2 interface, still waiting for it to arrive. I missed my RV meter already smile.gif
3. APRS interface to my ham radio using AGWTracker. I could get the GPS data splits into many outgoing virtual ports using GPSGate, but I couldn't get the AGWTracker to display the MFM Garmin map, probably because it is user compilation and not from Garmin.

BTW, we've another thread going on the same subject here:
