^Yup, agree with you. But I at the same time love IT gadgets too, but never think of getting 1 in car setup. Too many limitations I would say. My problem cannot install such setup is :
1. I don't watch movies while driving
2. My woofer enclosure is too big
3. I need ventilate my amps
4. I like to fine tune my system while driving

But 1 thing I not agree with you is the price. It is not cheaper, it is way cheaper.... Car PC is not only watching movies(format support is more than what branded DD offered as long as the proper video player installed), it got GPS and even better still, play games. 1 Alpine DD is rm3++++ to 4+++ if add GPS it may cost rm6+++ at the end.

For me, SQ is a very subjective manner to discuss about, you have your own expectations, I got mine. The main objective on having a sound system is the system able to reproduce what data the source has. If it can reproduce all of them, then it will be a good system. For sure tuning play an important role also(that's why I stick to my current HU).

Nope.... Because you need to convert your battery power(DC) to AC in order to power your Altec Lansing. Very complicated unless you know electronics.

^You cannot blame people for this. The people that need to be blamed is the marketing departments for such marketing gimmick of big numbers means good.
Just like some people like to wire their subs to 1ohm....

I'm using the brand that I'm selling, Visaton. I won't change anything for a start, as your "amazing" means nothing to me(a very subjective matter). What I will do is open up the door and check for any leaks on the speaker and the baffle, recheck the gain and crossover cut off points settings. Sometimes a speaker don't sound nice because of such problems. Try that first before deciding to change anything.
