Yeah, was surprised that even smaller banks in Vietnam are part of the initial launch. In contrast, only the major local banks and foreign banks supports AP in Malaysia.

Would be interesting if smaller players such as Affin Bank, BSN, Bank Islam and etc. starts offering Apple Pay to their cardholders.

Also, ALL the 6 said banks in Vietnam offers support for Debit Card as well. Same can't be said in Malaysia.

Thai Airways supports Apple Wallet too.

But the product available is very limited.. app not user friendly yet.. wait for their improvement

Hopefully we could pay for LRT/MRT/Other Public Transport at the turnstiles using Apple Pay soon, considering that the government has a relatively successful launch in allowing Open Loop Payments at several highways.

Anyone have any idea when will CIMB support Apple Pay and will they support only credit cards or with debit cards?

I tried before also use SC card. But still can't find the reason. Never always use to much, once in a while only.

I failed twice with Journey Mastercard on Apple Pay. I just searched back the thread. Look like it is known issue for long time

It’s been a year and a half since Apple Pay was launched in Malaysia, and apart from Wise, there hasn’t been any additional banks/wallets that have adopted it. After months and months of “coming soon” from BigPay and Hong Leong without any news, I gave up waiting and just closed my other accounts and opened a Maybank account. I suggest you do the same too. This is the point of competition, I suppose—Maybank gets a new customer because it adopted a popular technology, offering it for all its debit/credit cards, while the other banks lose a customer because they drag their feet, probably because they’re unwilling to give a small cut of the transaction fees to Apple.

Apple Pay is convenient but no benefit unlike Samsung Pay (even though the benefit also shaved down a lot compare to launch period)

for now i only use Hong Leong bank Wise & PBB Quantum Visa in Samsung Pay since Apple Pay no support.

MBB & SCB & Wise (green) into Apple Pay.

another category of lazy banks that did not deliver: banks with apple pay enabled in other markets, but did not enable it in Malaysia
