No problem using the GPS. You cannot program the written language to English, but you can change the audio to English.

Just key in the phone number of your destination and you are done. Anyway it's better if you could learn some Hangul before going there too, so that you can make sure the destination shown in GPS is correct.

Actually most of the attractions are nearby Seogwipo (and Jungmun) area, for example, the three most famous waterfalls are all nearby. Hallasan also easily accessible (nearer) from here.

I don't really explore much of Jeju-si. Only went to Yongduam Rock, Loveland, Mysterious Road, Gimnyeong Maze Park and Manjanggul Lava Tube there.

While for Seogwipo, Teddy Bear Museum, Jeongbang Falls, Cheonjiyeon Falls, Cheonjeyeon Falls, Alive Museum, Seosokkak Estuary, Olleh Market.

Don't miss out east of the island too. For example Seongsan Ilchulbong, where you can see women diver show.

Much thanks for the recommendation.
So you drive from Seogwipo to Seongsan Ilchulbong then back to Seogwipo ?
Probably not going to the waterfalls, as Feb still winter must be freezing cold there ..

I drove from Seogwipo to Seongsan Ilchulbong in the morning, had lunch in one of the Sikdang restaurants, then drove to Gimnyeong Maze Park and Manjanggul Lava Tube (both are just 1 km apart) in the afternoon. After that drove back to Seogwipo.

The distance is not as long as you think. But you will feel it's a long journey especially if you venture from south to east, north to south etc., mainly due to the very low speed limit (average maybe 60 - 70 km/h only).

I just used 3 quarters of fuel throughout the 4 days, but that already costed me RM160 sweat.gif

You need to have a valid class D license that have at least one year validity (you can renew on the spot anyway), then you can apply for the international driving permit (idp) from jpj.

Bring two white background visa photo, pay RM150, wait for 15 mins. That's all.

https://www.booking.com/hotel/kr/days-jeju-...wipo-ocean.html

Have a look at the link above. This is the hotel that i stayed during the 4 days.

Actually i booked another hotel initially, but the hotel closed down 1 month before my arrival (due to some admin issue), thus agoda compensated me with this hotel with the same price (RM270 per night if i remember correctly), but with breakfast for two included (initial booking no breakfast).

The hotel provide multilevel parking for cars, i just park my car near the entrance, there are staff there who will move the car to the actual parking lot using a machine.

There are a lot of choices for seogwipo stays. Some prefer airbnb too. You can try to compare the prices.

I just pump the fuel yesterday and the gasoline price is 1590 won per liter. Equavalant to rm6 per liter.

Their petrol stations are open for competition. Different station selling different price.

I would recommend the last day of the stay at jeju-si. As the speed limit enforcement camera really anoying when you travel back from seogwipo. You need to allocate plenty of time from seogwipo to return the car and then to airport if staying seogwiport last night

You must apply the IDP (international driving permit)form JPJ. Car rental company only recognise the JPJ IDP. Failed to show this you are not allow to rent a car even you have made the booking

You can go to tourist spot by bus. But it is very time consuming like never ending waiting for the bus.

If rent a car is within your budget, then rent a car is a no brainer.
Otherwise using google map navigate the bus route to your target destination.

For anyone interested, here's my Vivaldi Park compilation. Only did 7 of 12 slopes (the easiest 7 of course, lol). Like I mentioned earlier, the mountain can perhaps be called "boring." And during peak periods it's crowded as hell.

Also, link to full review/write-up on blog if you're interested.
