Of course driving will be much cheaper. And since you have 6 people, you can share the cost for the International Driving Permit too (RM150 per year).

Fuel price around RM5.20 per litre when I was there two months ago. Food price more or less the same as in Seoul, expect to spend RM50 - 70 per person if you eat in decent restaurant.

A car is almost a must in Jeju because the public transport there is not so convenient.

I used AJ car rental. Not bad. A lot of people here will recommend Lotte rent-a-car (formerly known as KT Kumho). I think both of them offer competitive price. For Lotte rent-a-car, if you have the discount coupon from KTO plaza, you can even get cheaper rate.

Nope I did not stay in Jeju-si. I stayed in Seogwipo for the whole 4 nights (got some special offer from Agoda for this Seogwipo hotel).

No problem using the GPS. You cannot program the written language to English, but you can change the audio to English.

Just key in the phone number of your destination and you are done. Anyway it's better if you could learn some Hangul before going there too, so that you can make sure the destination shown in GPS is correct.

Actually most of the attractions are nearby Seogwipo (and Jungmun) area, for example, the three most famous waterfalls are all nearby. Hallasan also easily accessible (nearer) from here.

I don't really explore much of Jeju-si. Only went to Yongduam Rock, Loveland, Mysterious Road, Gimnyeong Maze Park and Manjanggul Lava Tube there.

While for Seogwipo, Teddy Bear Museum, Jeongbang Falls, Cheonjiyeon Falls, Cheonjeyeon Falls, Alive Museum, Seosokkak Estuary, Olleh Market.

Don't miss out east of the island too. For example Seongsan Ilchulbong, where you can see women diver show.

I drove from Seogwipo to Seongsan Ilchulbong in the morning, had lunch in one of the Sikdang restaurants, then drove to Gimnyeong Maze Park and Manjanggul Lava Tube (both are just 1 km apart) in the afternoon. After that drove back to Seogwipo.

The distance is not as long as you think. But you will feel it's a long journey especially if you venture from south to east, north to south etc., mainly due to the very low speed limit (average maybe 60 - 70 km/h only).

I just used 3 quarters of fuel throughout the 4 days, but that already costed me RM160

In Jeju, i rent from aj rental car (avis) due to they provide new kia k3 with good price. 120k KRW for 4 days.
hustle free since is full cdw coverage. price is more about the same. the cheapest won't be much different.
In Peninsular, i rent from Lotte (hertz). Both car rentals are good in my experience even in other countries.

There are other car rental companies in Jeju like Sixt, Star, Kt, Jeju OK, Jeju Dream, Jeju Rental Car, TamRa, etc. You need to do a search on it since those are not international brand which can be easily found in english platform. Open google map search for car rental and you can get the information about the company. 

Car rental companies normally provide free gps. No need worry about gps usage since is pretty easy. ask the staff to show you and spend 10 minutes to familiarize the location entry before start moving.

Waze can be used but it is not so good in other country since it is not main navigation app.

if you know Korean language or at least know hangeul, naver map or kakao map is recommended.

hi bro, just wanna ask. i think i made a reservation at aj rental car website for K3 also but quoted almost 120k won also but for 3 days adn i think its without cdw coverage. kinda confused with the cdw coverage during selection. u did via online also?

if i just walk in and again ask for K3 you think the price is more less the same with online, or more expensive?

Anyone have experience renting EV like Ioniq in Jeju?

eletric car is supposely way cheaper than gasoline car right?
charging for 45min could get up to 80% and last 200km i've read.
AJ so far doesnt offer any EV car in the list.

We are going there next week 19/3 for 8 days to catch the cherry blossom. Can we get away with just normal jacket or do we need to use our winter jacket. Any mobile data do you subscribe in jeju and how easy can you get this at jeju airport itself?.

Just call host using Roaming Call. Max is just few ringgit per call... "Hello, i want to check in"
