new Unifi 30mb user here.

is it standard to have delay when initially connected to the internet. i.e. when browsing it'll take around 20-30s before the page is loading. but if check speedtest the speed is ~30mbps.
*
I would say, start with channel setting, use "wifi analyzer" from your cell to determine the best channel with less interference

Today TM representative came to my house to registered the Unifi services (30mbps) newly introduced in my neighborhood.

*I wanna ask the sifus, any particular should I take note apart from the advice posted in the first page?

*Any alternative router recommended? Budjet in RM 200.

Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif
*
Whats the router did TM gave?
Are you having any connectivity issues with it?
Did you run a speed test both on wifi and LAN?

Any reason you want to ditch the provided router?

Actually TM agent just came over to register UNIFI setup for my house.

So far he told me need to wait for contractor to do evaluation and drill for optic fiber.
Port and fiber optic are newly installed in my neighborhood after waited for so many years.

Normally TM router is not so reliable right? XD
I am using Asus router for my 8mbps Streamyx currently.

Your advice is to do a speed test on the router provided by TM prior changing it?
*
Correct, you dont need to rush and spend some money now. Just wait, get the box, test it, if it doesnt meed your requirement, then change it.

I'm using DLink 815L provided by TM, thus far no complaint on it, the wifi is fine for my setup and LAN is great since I run 24X7 P2P

I have 6-7 devices connected most of the time.

Is anybody else having atrocious upload speed like me? My download speed has been smooth since the beginning but I just noticed my slow upload speed since last month or so. TM will send a technician tomorrow but I'm afraid I will get charged RM53 for whatever reason.
*
I presume...port reset from TM had been done.

You had rebooted your modem, router as well?

Hi, I subsribed UNIFI biz package at Kelana Jaya business area. And i found out i unable to do tracert to any website as if it was blocked. I called UNIFI and they sent their tech onsite to check on their modem and router. After checked, they only tell me UNIFI/TM blocked tracert doh.gif . Can anyone here confirmed?
*
to my understanding, tracert is being disabled. But if I'm not mistaken you can use 3rd party tool to do so. Never really tried. There was a discussion on this long time ago

Hard to say TM is a public company when our government keeps 'subsidizing'/'sponsoring' TM broadband improvement + rollout.

Sigh.....Guess I gonna pay RM200+ for my unifi and RM90+ for my streamyx forever....
*
why do you need streamyx, when you have unifi?

Hypptv uses the standard configuration, as for internet use the wifi to set it up.

Check out the hypptv thread and EC6108V8 thread...there are details on how to set it up

Fruitie you can now officially add me to your Club 28! vmad.gif Happy?! grrrr

The story is this...last week, my voip phone had some terrible noise in it, both in coming and outgoing and at time, cant hear the voice from the other end...vice versa.

As usual called TM, standard SOP, reset from TM end, reboot router/modem. All was well, phone back to normal.

2 Days later, checked my speedtest....sigh now capped at 28Mbps....called them up had no answer as usual, as long as its within the SLA.

hmm.gif Then that's strange. Don't bother first. If they don't upgrade mine, be prepared for my escalation to MCMC. biggrin.gif I really don't see why I will be excluded.
Let's see if the email will come later.

Now not in country, so won't call them to check why I didn't receive the email, give them till I go back this weekend.
*
I havent received my email either...patiently waiting

Exactly. I am on VIP10 and hoping that I will be eligible for the upgrade.
How about those who are paying RM199 for VIP10? Pity them...

By the way, what's the different between VIP30 and Advance30? Same same or different? Confuse.  hmm.gif

Or am i right to say there is no more VIP* package. All new personal unifi package is either Advance 30, 50 or Pro 100?
*
There is no VIP 30, where did you read that from?

*
RM 60 over the ceiling all the the wall from the poll? Interesting....all my cousin and friends just did it in the last 3 months was charged around RM 200

just to check...for landed houses, most users here opt for internal cabling or ceiling cabling for inside premise ?
*
conceal wiring, takes too much time, messy and charges for a occupied house, hence over the ceiling is a better option.

LOL...looks like the recruitment is on!

ANyways, just check with both my neighbors, they been getting what I had earlier...so looks like it might not be by area?

I suspect, if one calls TM for connection issues or stability/noise (as in my case, noise on voip phone) they capped the line for stability....just maybe
