Hi guys, I just changed from streamyx 4mbps to unifi 30mbps yesterday.

Is it the phone line provided by unifi is free to call to landline like streamyx or pay per use?
*
It depends on the package that you had signed. some has free call some dont. If you had gone thru the standard upgrade rm199 then the call is free for the first 600min. If I'm not mistaken the new package with RM20 has 1000minutes free call

Sometimes, I dont understand why the need to bash TM router. There are many reported users are fine with it as well with no known issues (such as limited connectivity or disconnections). Probably there might have been some models in the past had issues but lets not generalize as a whole.

I had been using DLink AC1200-815L with no issues at all. The wifi coverage is fine, even at the back of my house (upstairs) I do get around -70dBm, thats close to 50% of the signal.

have you use the older model 615 before 815L? the new one 815L is a lot better
*
exactly, as I said, there was some models which didnt do well, atleast TM had learnt the lesson and been giving better router now. I'm not a TM fan either, but its unethical to keep on the bashing. Constructive criticism is fine...which they well deserve...cheers mate

I think I kena tipu already when I installed my UniFi 2 years back. sad.gif
I think mine is Full Fibre and they said counted from the pole. doh.gif Damn it. mad.gif

I need to be cautious later when I do relocation. So, the 15m is from where they drill my ceiling ya..
Do you know where can I find this information? I wanna save and show to them. 2014 I'm still noob in UniFi and forgot to ask in this thread. doh.gif
*
lol...I thought you are the most sound here...yeah thanks many posters here who are willing to share.

As per your previous post quote, which is correct, normally they wont charge, if you willing to follow their easy way (with small conduit...normally plastic tubing) and drilling thru the wall to lay the length.

But once, you ask them to go over the roof or ceiling and lay to your own liking, there will be charges as the cost you had indicated. But bare in mind, its negotiable, so do negotiate.

I had one cousin who did complicated run of cable for RM200 and another for RM120 (simple over the ceiling).

Hi,

I signed for Unifi 30mbps early this year. Contract for 2 years.

Now I planned to move to another house. Can I contact them for this matter to change location etc?
*
Yes you can, and currently there is no relocation fees.

fixed username (end with @unifi)
and what a long and stupid password with mix of capital and small letters + number sweat.gif

lol...its not stupid la my friend....its just to keep things secured to counter hackers and others.

Its already becoming global requirement to have password embedded with multi case letters and numbers and symbols as well

Just got Unifi installed in my house today. Advance 30Mbps.

Wanted to do some custom wiring and make the HyppTV STB run on WIFI, but instead they insist on connecting using cable and phone wiring at the shortest route. But whatever....

And the wifi router they give is D-Link DIR-850L. Good or not?
*
Welcome to unifi....thus far 815L been serving me well. I kept it horizontal instead of vertical

i can confirm it is a mistake by them
the new promo

UniFi 30 and UniFi 50 no free call but got RM 20 discount

UniFi 100 got the free call but no RM 20 discount.
*
correct, there are two types of voice package.

Thos who had subcribed earlier with RM199 gets free 600mins with local calls.

The current 179 package had as addon RM20 for IDD Voice which is international and mobile calls for 1000min

Because TM provide free call to fixed line and state that RM0.10 to mobile phone. If you want IDD call to international then subscribe RM20

Correct, thats what I meant...I just spoke to them for my cousin account

double correct  tongue.gif

UniFi 30/50/100 doesn't come with default call plan. The call rate is at RM0.20 per minute if I am not mistaken.

So if the customer gets Voice STD 20 call plan, the first 600 minutes are free then RM 0.10 per minute will be charged to non-TM Fixed lines.

This Voice STD 20 is RM 20 per month.

They also got IDD call plan starting from RM 20 .This one enjoys up to 1,000 free minutes to selected 8 countries.Rate beyond free minutes will be charged as low as 15sen/min.

Triple Correct rclxms.gif

If only we could pin this (we dont have such feature within a thread).....since this are generic question that many been asking

Cheers

Using wifi connection. Not sure if it's router problem or not. Since the problem happens sometimes, I'm worried that if I call TM to check they would say no problem and charge me RM53.
*
I would suggest to test it with wired first and monitor to see how it goes.

If its still low or intermittent then give a call to reset the port.

Lets do that first
