Don't really care. Already got a WiiU which can play Wii games as well.

From ign, the dock is just charging / video transmitter. The main thing (proc) is solely in the *tablet itself.

It's all speculation now, we will need to wait for more info.

All the speculations have to wait until next year to confirm lol. Makes sense considering Nintendo still have to sell 3DSes this holiday season and they don't want to canibalise sales.

Maybe they don't want to reveal too much now...but i guess the least it might do is performance increased when docked. The switch could be running on power saving mode while in tablet mode to save battery, but once docked, the system can switch to AC and increase the core clock speed to provide 1080p rendering.

Of course, i would prefer if the dock is actually got some processor on it to boost performance instead......i think this was demoed by Nvidia previously using similar docked technology.

Still could be possible, Nintendo just said they haven't reveal everything yet.

It does say no new "Switch" or Smartphone apps" related info will be announced. I'm going to assume they mean console information will be announced since they can just show a teaser trailer for a switch game without revealing anything about the switch that we already know.

Capcom did hint that they'll have a major title game with 4m sales in/before 31st march (their fiscal year end) 2017 in their last fiscal year report which coincides with Switch's release. Currently, only MH is capable of reaching that sales number in capcom's lineups.

PS: There's going to be a capcom stream right after that direct too.

it's 2m, not 4m before fiscal year ends (that 4m is for resident evil 7). they won't outright say the new game will be for switch as well in this direct, maybe in other stream or future direct but not this one. also, that "no switch/smartphone" footnote exist since last year, back when it is still "no nx/smarphone" and they really meant that (so no console or game). this is different from like 3ds direct but ends up showing 1 or 2 wii u games, or spring game direct but ends up having 1 or 2 summer/fall games as it never mentioned in footnote before.
(this only applies to the upcoming direct, not monster hunter emergency broadcast airing 30 minutes after direct. that one is not fully Nintendo related, so they don't have to play by Nintendo's rule )

anyway, there's 3 possible situations for this new game (which ppl mostly assume it will be mhxg):
1. 3ds exclusive
2. 3ds/switch
3. switch exclusive

no. 3 is impossible, as no matter what magic Nintendo/Capcom use, 2m target will be almost impossible to achieve in less than a month (that would make the attach ratio almost 100%, which will never really happen)
no. 1 is possible, and the 2m prediction matches with what typical mh game decline.
no. 2 is what most people including me hoping with 2 different situations; either same day release or late enhanced release for switch version

Not even a month after MH Stories release they annouce another MH, that shows how bad that Stories is. Sorry Capcom, already move to card game already.

at least they waited for stories to be released first before announcing a new game. besides, it's pretty much known a new mh game is coming before this fiscal year ends(that isn't stories) via Capcom's financial report

Well if you mentioned that they can sell 2m copies of this upcoming MH no doubt that 3DS will be their only platform to perform since Ninty havent announce a new handheld console. Milk too much on 3DS already.
