Is it worth getting the PL 15mm f1.7 to replace my 20mm pancake especially for indoor low-light shooting?
*
Side track a bit, is the focusing of 20MM loud and slow? I'm thinking to get one.

I used to have Oly 17MM F2.8, the focusing literally SCARED the shit out of me, so loud and so slow !!

I wouldn't call it loud but it does make a sound and in low-light indoors it tends to hunt a lot.
Slow being one of the reasons I will be upgrading to the 15mm PL.

PL 15mm is bestest lens for streetshooting liao

fast, small and light

and yeah the 20mm was a very old m43 tech lens, so the focusing noise a bit annoying, just like the 25mm PL

Good stuff, I have my eye on a 2nd hand 15mm smile.gif

By the way, can I ask what sort of color settings do you guys use in terms of NR/contrast/saturation/sharpness etc. to produce the most natural SOOC photos with minimal processing?

Does lens affect the color as well because my 12-60 and 20 f1.7 seems to give different color tones hmm.gif

Ya, different lens manufacture have slightly different color tuning. To my eyes, even Olympus PRO and PREMIUM lens have slight different color ( more like the color richness )

Ok that makes sense then as I used the same settings and same background but the colors appeared slightly different. I guess there is no one size fits all but I find the GX85 colors to be a bit dull and cold hence I used custom standard with NR -3, CON +1, SAT +2 and gave the pictures a bit more "pop"

NR - low
All others at 0.
But I do keep raw in case I don't like the SOOC.

And as for the picture quality.. I'm definitely getting this lens for sure (this one demo unit je, one of 2 official units in Malaysia)

The first pic I took with the lens was a lucky 1/4 sec shot from the hip

Damn sharp even at f1.7
