Hey guys, bought flx last year.

Really frustrated with this car.
Now at 4.5km already used 2 services but still have problem. Next service is 10km.

Problems that i have
-handbreak have to very pull very high or else car will move when put D.(serviced once but problem came out again)
-acceleration feels something is pulling you, traffic movingg slow will make my car jerk like driving manual.
If you let go the accelerator pedal the car will feel like its breaking hard instead of slowing down.
-car pickup is so slow that it can cause accident if the car coming not slowing down when you wanted to turn.
-when turn steering wheel to the max my car just die ?????(fixed but car shaking when turn to max)
-gear button stuck.
God this car not even a year yet.(new car)
Any advice for the services?

I feel like wanted to trade in this buy perodua.
It was before perodua bezza launch. So i bought too early

Thanks in advance

The handbrake actually you can ownself adjust from the level inside the car under the PU cover. Just get a 10mm socket to further tighten it if you want.

But please always put the car in N aka neutral when you want to use your handbrake. Of cos the car will move when it is in D. Your handbrake can only take so much trying to stop the car moving. Please know that most of the stopping force your car have is from the front brakes not the rear so no matter how any time you go SC complain they can only tighten the rear brake shoes so much. Tighten too much you risk jamming the rear brakes or snapping your hand brake cable if someones pulls the handbrakes too hard.

Your acceleration is slow and feel like pulling, perhaps you have ask the SC to tighten the rear brakes so much that it is literally grinding against your rear drums already.

Even you buy Perodua or other car, you put in D and pull handbrake overtime the car will still can move once the handbrake cant hold the car.

Please understand the meaning of Parking brake.

I haven't cast an inquisitive eye on Daisy's rear brakes but my experience with cars made over the last 50 years is they all have self adjusting shoes and the parking brake setup should be pretty well a one off thing after fitting a replacement cable or whatever.
The crunch is that some brakes set their adjustment by braking whilst reversing and others adjust merely by pulling the parking brake up and down a few times, an issue with that method is that in the USA almost universally their folk regard a parking/emergency brake as something covered in spiders and scorpions, and would never allow their hands to touch it, that isn't usually an issue in over-regulated Australia where not operating a parking brake whilst parked is punishable by a massive fine or jail, the point being that parking brake adjustment can be lost by not doing some things the designers considered normal, some people never have reason to reverse either.
As to the SAT button, I repeat what I've said before, its sole purpose is to remind us why we bought a CVT, to avoid the jerk of gearchanges, so we buy our new car, test the SAT button to feel its operation, then put things back to normal CVT operation and live happily ever after.

our saga don't have self adjusting rear brake shoe for the parking brake. When my car left the factory it was about 2-3 clicks over time the parking brakes gets more and more clicks to engage properly. IINM the last I adjust the parking brake is already needing 6-7 clicks to engage.

FLX cvt is diff from 4AT, it will pull quite hard if you dont apply brake pedal & the 3rd brake light is litting up,

eg: at hill slope, if not too steep, our flx will either stationery or being pull forward, if a 4AT it will definitely roll in reverse direction unless you have set a higher rpm idling...

CVT engine braking... it is just normal, useful when going downhill and save you some brake pad...

Kindly adapt to CVT gb characteristic, pick up from standstill too slow, learn a way for it to move faster.. jerking? let it roll from standstill instead pushing it like a 4AT, if the jerk is too harsh/aggresive, jz repeat 3-6times the end clutch adaptation urself

if the gear button u feel stuck, just drip a few drops of silicone oil or those rubber softener liquid to the gear button gap, work like a charm...

if u love handling, u love proton, if u love fuel saving floaty car, go for Bezza..

Loving Proton will force you to learn about car DIY and some extra knowledge about cars... XD thumbup.gif

Not at high speeds, I press the pedal while being stationary got the sound.

Doesn't sound like an aeroplane, more like air rushing out/in to something

I have a video but no idea how to post it

i guess the "whooish" sound is appear when u press the accelerator pedal and u will hear the kind of vacuum/gas sound just before the RPM start to go up..

I treat mine as normal... is it?

QUOTE
Proton’s chief technical officer Abdul Rashid Musa has confirmed to <link removed> that the national carmaker’s new torque converter CVT  – to be matched to the company’s upcoming new direct-injected engines, replacing the current start-up clutch units – will not be supplied by Punch Powertrains, but by another transmission maker. Rashid said that although the Belgian-based company is already developing its own torque converter CVT, it won’t be ready in time to be mated to the new engines, so Proton had to look elsewhere. “We discussed with them, I told them to bring [the transmission’s development] forward from their schedule, but they said they couldn’t,” he said. “That’s why we need to go to somebody else. They have their own plans, I have to respect that, but unfortunately their timing is a bit different from ours.” Nevertheless, he commended Punch Powertrains for being a good partner over the years, and he says the company could revert to Punch transmissions once they are ready. Although Rashid declined to name the supplier of the new transmissions, rumours suggest that they may come from Jatco – the Nissan-owned CVT expert erected its own booth at the Alami Proton open day, so the signs are definitely pointing in that direction.

iafm that caused all the issue? i guess jerking issue in iriz is less than flx..

yeah..i drove my bil asx last time...1word smoothhhhhhhhhhh

less engine braking, the car can coast like normal AT, and can play with pedal shift.. rclxms.gif

I cant tahan with 4AT especially when it downshift from 2 to 1, other than that is still ok... experience from driving dugong veeyosss..

From my flx ownership, so far it give me not too much problem...engine n gb still in 1 piece, just paying for the mountings, wheel bearings..

just the cvt gb sound not solid..

can i put a turbo diesel mill in it? hehehe....

Yeahh, that's the sound my getting when i step my accelerator.

Well, I went to proton SC and they said it's normal.

But during normal driving, as I'm using manual, when Im balancing the car clutch and petrol, when i increase pressing the petrol, the car loses power and sometimes stalls.

should be the sound from throttle flaps, BLM also having such sound, like hissing. but only evident if i wind down the window and the engine sound reflected from a surface, and..... a light throttle.

increase pressing the petrol and make sure you don't release the clutch fast, else it will stall, i mean during idling. If the car is moving then it shouldn't be stalling. Else something is not right.

Guys, really need help here. I already change my front driver side bearing for 2 times already, and not even 3 weeks the sound come back.

Can suggest other thing that make it broken? Lower arm? Ball joint? Or any other thing? I only use the car in highway and didn't even hit any pothole...
