how to top-up my paypal acc from my maybank acc ?

No top up from other banks already. The only way to top up is open a savings account in Rhb.
Alternatively, link your debit card to your paypal account to enable withdrawal/payment through direct debit from your savings account.

why only rhb

I guess because previously too many top up failure and missing funds that makes them to cancel top up function from other banks. So now have to use solely Rhb account for top up.

Maybank, Pbe and Rhb do works well for Paypal.. Maybe could try either one of these.

I experienced that too. But eventually they fixed it I think, after it became mandatory that we transfer $50 or more, I noticed that problem seems to be gone, for me anyway.

Now I'm stuck, I can't transfer any funds to my paypal account. No any card, no RHB.  sad.gif

You can try buying MOL card from 7-11 stores. It's prepaid card for Paypal and can be top up. Not sure how it works but you may try inquire it from 7-11 there?

Sorry just noticed theres a paypal thread here, i will close my thread if i get an answer here

Hi, i am planning to use paypal for some deals through ebay, but don't have a credit card, however, the latest service by paypal offer direct debit from a rhb bank account. I am interested to use that, but no idea on how to use it. What's the procedure to set up using it? From what i gathered from the information is it like a prepaid account where you topup certain amount of money to paypal and paypal will just use the funds there to pay to the seller?
*
You don't need a credit card and it's not necessary from Rhb bank only. And it's not necessary to use topup or prepaid function unless you're rarely using Paypal or for security concerns. Topup requires a RHB savings account while prepaid can be gotten from 7-eleven stores.

If you're not eligible to register for a credit card then use debit card from any local or foreign banks such as Maybank, Public bank, Hong leong or others.

The procedure is: Register an account with Paypal -> Link your debit card to Paypal -> Start using your Paypal for payment from eBay or other websites that accept paypal. Just this simple. Not that complicated as it seems.

Hey there thanks for the reply. I don't have debit card either, just a student tongue.gif, however i do have a rhb saving account hence thats the reason i wanna use it. Anyway there are paypal prepaid card selling at 7-11s? how do they work?
*
Like that then using Top up is your only best option. They call it Mol-Prepaid, but it's recommended to use top up as you could specify how much amount you want in your Paypal. Not really sure how prepaid works though.

Procedure is: Register paypal account -> top up amount that you want -> start using your Paypal for payment.

*take note that the top up amount could be in USD or MYR. If you're trading in USD or any other foreign currency, then top up in USD.

Note: Payments can't be made in Malaysian Ringgit unless the seller and buyer are both located in Malaysia - you'll need to use a different currency with one of your other available payment methods for this transaction.

what is this? I saw this when I tried to use paypal to do payment today. I never had any problem using paypal before this.
*
Check if you have sufficient balance or not. If pay in USD then balance should be in USD also. Not MYR..

i saw some seller said that using paypal for payment method will be charged 5% surcharge fees. why is that so? or it differs from different sellers?
*
3.9% only actually.. So if you paid for 100usd item, Paypal will take 3.5usd as their service fees and the seller will receive only 96.5usd.

But it depends on sellers either they want to charge you for it or not. If you find the price high then choose from other sellers bah..

Personal account is for small amount of transaction and the fees are higher I think. If Paypal detects any frequent transaction or large amount of funds, they will block your account until receiving proof of transaction from you.

If you plan to be a seller, you should register a Premier account. But over the time Paypal will still block your account when it feels suspicious. I'm also not sure why. sweat.gif

Press the withdraw button in your account. Make sure to key in correct bank account information. You may find the bank's swift codes over here: http://www.theswiftcodes.com/malaysia/

I just got a Maybank Mastercard Debit, but I can't verify it on Paypal. Said has been rejected by the bank. Can somebody help? All the guides i found show Maybank Visa Debit.

This is bonkers since my last purchase is revoked due to "suspicious activity" (actually just a small glitch) and I'm now stuck at limited access.
*
Maybe u didn't activate your card for online transaction so got rejected. U can call the bank to let them get a solution for u.

Under the limitation it got tell u submit necessary info to them. Do it and it will be removed. If not then email them, they'll usually reply in one or two days time.

I used paypal to try to purchase from timberland.com (usa).

Timberland normally accepts Paypal, but apparently if the paypal account has a billing address (for the registered credit card) in Malaysia, Timberland will not process the order.

This is something i certainly have not heard of. I thought the idea of using Paypal is so that buyers would not have to reveal credit details. So merchants will charge Paypal and in turn Paypal will bill your credit card. Apparent this is not the case. According to Timberland, they will be able to match your entered billing address with the address stored on Paypal. Problem is Timberland will not allow you to enter a malaysian billing address.
See the problem

sigh..
*
It means they doesn't ship to Malaysia. You might need to contact them to do the trade by sending money directly to their Paypal account instead of paying off in their website since that's the case.

I usually did like that after discussing with the salesperson through email.

Yes true. But many merchants will also ship to alternate address (gifts for others) and so billing and shipping address need not be the same. I guess my point was some merchants will not accept Paypal with malaysia-issued credit cards - same problem as in the old days when Paypal wasn't around yet and some US merchants will not process cards issued in foreign countries.

Added on March 2, 2012, 8:46 pm
Timberland US does not ship outside of Continental USA. So i used a freight forwarder VPOST. In my case, it wasn't a shipping issue. It was because the CC registered with Paypal had a malaysian billing address.
Thanks for the suggestion on using paypal cash - i need to check with them.
*
They set it up not to accept funds from buyers outside of US in their website, but you're still able to pay them direct to their Paypal account.

You could try email them first before using Vpost. As I have also encounter a few website with the same problem as yours. But when emailed them, they say they do ship to Malaysia even though their website stated only to US continents.

Haven't tried this web before. But as I mention before, you can't pay on their website but you can pay to their sales agent Paypal account if you email and ask them. It's merely a preference set by the seller. You can do that too in your Paypal account. Source: http://reviews.ebay.com/PayPal-Accepting-p...000000004223522

Certainly if you have money, they will surely find a way to accept payment from you since it is business to them. Again, you might not able to pay through their website BUT you still can pay directly to their Paypal account in which they will provide you another Paypal email that could accept funds from Non-US registered users.
