Oh Malaysia kena ban for personal payment because got ppl selling funds? I though all countries will get that as well, now seem that only a few countries kena that.
So now still got any reason for us to use personal account? or we should upgrade to premium/business ? any benefit left for us in personal account compare to other 2?

Wah US account when sending personal payment, it only charge $0.01 fee. (sending amount is about US2)
The paypal prevent Malaysian to send personal payment but ppl still can use goods, service to send it, just need to pay the fee to paypal, they still cannot block ppl from selling the funds.
*
very true... money laundering can't be stopped laa.. that's why paypal previously was ordered to disclose their accounts and stuffs.

QUOTE(duabijitelur @ Jun 1 2013, 12:32 PM)
guys, any method to convert MYR to USD? cos i think it cant be done but just wondering any other way to convert it?
*
Nope.. there's no way to do that.

QUOTE(Audiophilic @ Jun 1 2013, 01:03 PM)
guys, if i want to top up with paypal, now unable to use with local bank transfer already? i tried it only works with RHB but i dont have one.. any other option to top up like using debit card or cc?
*
i suggest to use debit card instead.. especially those that is stand alone acount that is not directly linked to savings.

QUOTE(yeakyau @ Jun 3 2013, 11:33 AM)
Hi, is the big 2 tune card good? if make transaction between paypal to seller or buyer is there any charge of transaction on the tune 2 big visa prepaid card it self ?
*
tune card not bad also.. i'm using it together with other debit cards.. i use diff cards for diff purpose.
seller should bear the charges.. not the buyer.. Paypal has a clause which says seller cannot charge the fees to the buyer =)

QUOTE(Loque69 @ Jun 4 2013, 10:19 PM)
which is better for online shopping (in my case international shopping), use VISA or paypal? i already open paypal account, but because of limitation that start happen from last year, i cannot start shopping until now... (my address provided in paypal account not match with the address information in my bank card)...because in play-asia.com (the place where i am about to buy item), they accept other payment besides of paypal...the other option such as Mastercard/Visa, Moneygram and Moneybooker...so, is it safe and secure to use Visa instead of paypal when go to online shopping?
*
lift the limitation by verifying your card =)
actually visa has OTP depending on the bank which u need to key in 6 digit code send to your mobile..
but.. sometimes it's useless..

i kena credit card fraud 3 times in a year already... some merchant doesn't need Auth code..
so nothing is safe... =)

Dear all, need to get advice on your experience. Currently im selling my ipad in Mudah and got 1 guy from Nigeria offer me that. Very fast we close the deal and he immediately pay the payment through Paypal to my Public Bank Account but the payment are still on hold under Paypal until i able to provide Tracking Number.

So my question is, will the guys cancel off his payment once received the tracking number?
*
I don't think i wanna proceed with the deal..
not to discriminate but the scam rate from the country is too high for me to trust them..

It's very obvious it's a scam if it doesn't shows up in your paypal but shows up in your email instead
*
if you look at the itemized description. it's very obvious that it's been altered.. noticed the background in each of the items ?\

also.. to find out whether's from paypal or not.. check the message headers..
you can see where the email is actually coming from.

i can actually send you an email bearing paypal's email but my sending server can be different.. that's phishing and spoofing.. =)

So I have read the past page about this and I realize that there is no way I can convert my MYR balance to USD for international purchase?
So technically the RM20.00 in my Paypal balance can only be used for domestic purchases?

I verified my PayPal but basically I can't really use the money that they refunded, sigh.
*
sad rite?? i just use it to purchase movie tickets instead haha

I had the same problem. I verified 2 cards. So, I have MYR20.00 in my paypal balance. Cannot use it to pay item i want to buy in ebay. But good to know that there is a way i can use the balance. I thought the money is burn already.

i can withdraw the balance into a bank account with rm3 fee or withdraw to a debit card with rm20 fee.
*
i wouldn't withdraw the 20 if i were u.. due the fees.. i rather use it to pay for movie tickets instead. =D

If I request money, when that person send payment to me, how to know how much fee before he start sending?
*
depends on the currency you are sending..
MYR is more expensive somehow..
u got android phone?? if yes, you can try download paypal calculator.. easy to use to estimate the funds =)

oh ok thanks

Checked a few all required to pay

hmm.. that's too bad.. then prolly u can look up some paypal calc online..

QUOTE(ego3nity @ Jul 22 2013, 04:54 PM)
can we transfer fund to PayPal account from BIG Card? If yes, what is the exchange rate? thanks
*
yes of cos.. u will need to do some estimation...
Big card follow CIMB rates... calc based on selling rates

try compare Paypal rates and direct bank rates.. sometimes cheaper sometimes more exp.. haha

QUOTE(toiletwater @ Jul 23 2013, 11:21 PM)
Easy question:

When purchasing something overseas, Paypal does not need to be 'top-ed up' (due to RM10.00 balance) if its linked/verified to a credit/debit card?

Thanks all si-fus!!!
*
you don't need to top-up, will deduct directly from card instead...
especially when you are buying stuffs from oversea.. that balance of RM10 won't be used..
only purchases made in RM will use the balance =)

QUOTE(ego3nity @ Jul 24 2013, 09:23 AM)
hi bro, how do you transfer to paypal then from BIG card ?
*
If i'm you, i won't reload Paypal account with funds..
unless you are very confident that when you reload, the conversion rate is low enuff and will not go up..

for example.

1.

let's say you have extra money and don't mind keeping it on a virtual bank for future purchases.. espcially USD

if rates drops until MYR 3.00~ 3.05, and you reload USD100 into your paypal, that would cost your MYR305 depending on banks.
you will need to have roughly MYR310 inside your BIG card.

after one week, if rates is MYR310/USD1, you are safe... you can use the funds in your paypal to purchase stuffs at MYR310/USD1 rate.

2.

if you're not always buying stuffs that cost you USD, then i don't recommend reloading your Paypal account. just pay as you use.
imagine u wanna buy USD30 worth of items. and your bank rate is MYR3.15/USD1
then best is to reload 30 x 3.15 94.5.. keep 95-96 bucks in your card and just buy via paypal.

this method allows u to choose between paypal forex rate or your banks forex rate

=)

hope this clarifies your question hehe

hi melz, thank for your explanation really appreciate it smile.gif
yes you r correct, i guess its true that sometimes paypal rate is extremely higher than the local bank rates as just now i was paying usd 235 and the total shows in RM is 777 where it calculates 1 USD = 3.3 MYR
cimb forex is 1 USD = 3.2 MYR. supposedly usd 235 = RM 753 and i ended up paying more RM 24 hehe
maybe next time i'll choose the option "to use local bank rates" but the problem with this option is that it does not show the rate it exchange, it will only show on the bank statement after transaction is done
*
yep.. that's the prob.. cos paypal will not pull the rates from any banks..
so we need to do the estimation on our own..

for some ppl who are lazy to do calc.. they end up paying higher.. sadly.. i was one of the lazy ones last time.. haha sweat.gif

Hello guys, sorry for the simple question.
Malaysian can still use paypal right?

What is the step to get paypal account?

I have maybank2u account and maybank atm card.
or maybe what's the best? ambank nextG or RHB?
The simplest will be ambank nextG?
*
welll.. try not to link any debit card that is directly linked to your savings account..
that's a bad idea =P

try googling on the cards that can be used for paypal..
as told by my friend who works in paypal..
some cards can be used for payment but may not work for withdrawal..

If someone want transfer money from his paypal account to my paypal account, does paypal charge me any fee? Or it is free of charge?
*
there;s a fee..
what currency are you getting paid in?
i can help you to calculate the fee if you want

e.g

USD fees 2.9% + USD0.30

If you are sent USD100, fees will be USD3.20, you will receive USD98.80

MYR fees 3.4% + MYR2.00

If you are sent MYR100, fees will be MYR5.40, you will receive MYR94.60

hope this helps =)

if your paypal balance is in USD and the site is also accepting USD, then usually it will use the account balance before deducting from card
