hello ,
i want askwhy i cant send payment to others ? i mean send payment to my friends , i got an error message , it said We're sorry, but we can't send your payment right now.
what happen ? anyone can tell how to solve this?
*
hmm.. there's few things that you might wanna check..

1. is your account verified ?
2. what is your sending limit ? if there is..
3. registered country ? e.g registered account under Malaysia but sending from Timbuktu.. ISP blocked? maybe?
4. the person you are sending to ? maybe he/she not verified or country listed as high fraud or suspicious.
5. where you funds are originated from.

there's a lot of factor for that error..

Hi guys, I would like to send a payment to US company via PayPal. The PayPal surcharge fees to send payment to US will be minimal if I use a bank account right? If I'm not mistaken credit card will be like an additional 4%?
*
hmmm not too sure about that..
if you mean the surcharge for currency conversion.. i'm getting like around 1% from publicbank debit card.
unsure about bank charges.

Yea this is what I'm unsure of as well, I know there will be a currency conversion charge but what about any other transaction fees? Or the receiver will bare all the charges? hmm.gif
*
receiver bear the charges for receiving money.. but sender charges is usually the bank conversion rate
diff banks have different charges if not mistaken

Say i've got a payment in AUD. (my PP account is in Malaysia).

do i get billed for double forex charged from AUD->USD-> MYR? or straight from AUD-> MYR.

thanks
*
hmm.. your AUD most likely stuck in the account unless you withdraw them.. depends on the amount if large amount, still ok
if small, i suggest just spend it on some aussie sites.. hehe

Any Sifu can let me know, if A in Malaysia wants to transfer to B in Indonesia, both with paypal account, what are the charges on both ends ? Is it 4.4% each side ? Also, Im sure MY or Rupiah is not standard currency, means we are dealing in USD right ? Will it be a direct conversion ? Or we are also charged a certain amount of conversion ?
*
not really... it depends what currency the receiver is asking for and in what currency you are sending..
you will not be charged by paypal, except for forex conversion.. recipient gets charged for receiving money..
i can help you calc the amount that the recipient get charged and net amount received.. if u want

QUOTE(SyathibiyMegat @ Mar 16 2014, 03:36 PM)
Guys, is there any exchange rate if one transfers from her US acc to another person's US acc? If MY-US, there's this almost RM50 charge. How abt US-US?
*
Us to US is based on the USD recipient fee..

RM50 is really big amount.. i guess you're sending a large amount to get that figure.. =P

Recipient fee or amount that recipient received? I sent $385 to her, I was charged almost RM50. She sent $330 to another acc, US-US, how much was she charged?
*
ahh... now i understand..
haha

okay this is how we calc..

You sent USD385 ?

Paypal fees is 2.9% + USD30 cents

fees would be 386 x 2.9% USD11.17 + 0.30 = USD11.47 (this is chargeable to her, not the sender. no idea why you got charged instead)

recipient will receive USD373.53

for USD330 from US - US .. same calc applies. the otehr account would get USD320.13

So it means the sender has no charges, only from the receiver ?
That would be great. Im required to transfer RM500 to an Indonesian student on a monthly basis. Sometimes more sometimes less, but lets use RM500 as a standard figure.
*
hmmm.. sorry.. on second thought.. i just remembered something
i received money from an indonesian some time ago..
the currency used was USD.

paypal doesn't support IDR at the moment.
so yeah.. the currency would be in USD instead.. to be frank.. not really worth using paypal in this case..

transaction gonna be like MYR > USD - USD > IDR .. usually withdrawing from paypal will be charged some fees as well aside from receiving money from you

Guys, recently I verified my CC in Paypal and they did the pre-charge thing, and now I have this in my account:

user posted image

I recently made a purchase but the money wasn't deducted from this amount, instead it took money from my CC.

How to use this RM10? Or credit back into my CC?
*
when you make a purchase.. was it in other currency than MYR ? If yes, then paypal will not use that balance...
It will NOT be refunded.. it stays in the account until you use it.

If i were you, i would make use of that MYR10 + extra from your debit/credit card to buy movie tickets hehe =)

i've been doing that every time i receive small amount of money in MYR

just got a confirmation from a friend working in paypal.. IDR is not introduced yet in indonesia..
best option is USD , and not MYR as well..

QUOTE(SyathibiyMegat @ Mar 16 2014, 08:47 PM)
The 2.9% + $0.30 fee is MY-US or MY-MY? Or, all the same? Any country to any country, same fee still applies which is 2.9% + $0.30? Is that it? What's exchange rate then? In details, it writes $1=RM3.40, while current exchange rate should be $1=RM3.28. Is this additional? Is there any exchange rate for local transfer? Say, MY-MY or US-US?

Added: According to your calculation, she should have got $373.53 right? But she said she only received $369.68. Where did the money goo sad.gif
*
every country has diff rates.. no doubt some country has same rates..
they used to have table for the rates.. now can't see them anymore..

the rates should follow the recipient currency.
MYR - MYR = 3.4% + RM2 .. which is kinda expensive i would say.. i lose a lot receiving money in MYR..

ask ur recipient to check on her transaction details... sould indicate the charges taken by paypal..
as for exchange rates... normally, you have the options to follow Paypal exchange rates or your own bank rates... depending on banks and also the card that you use...
the options... sometimes lower sometimes higher... i use public bank card.. so it's forex rates + 1.25%

I did a different calculation, and it matched. The fee should be 3.9% + $0.3. That's why she got that. But why ar? On PayPal site it shows like you showed to me, 2.9% + $0.3

But the exchange rate is totally sucks
*
hmm.. thats odd... cos i know the highest % is for JPY at 3.6%
something might have change some where..
3.9% is really high...
mind if i ask what card you using?

maybe these might help

Hi guys, i got a question... I bought stuff from qoo10 but the item never arrive and seller refund me 21.90, but paypal charge me 10.90 for fees. Is that normal ?? Thought seller should be bearing the fee...
*
shouldn't be... receiving charge is not even that high..
plus.. in paypal for a period of time, seller will get an option to click on Refund.
recipient shouldn't be charged..

i suggest you raise a ticket with paypal. get their clarification. hmm.gif

Transaction currency I forgot is USD or ringgit actually. if USD 3.4% + RM2 is paid on the receiver side?
Anyway I called paypal up again . this time a different person picked the call and he said its not a receiving fee after all but some money was refunded to my card and some to my paypal balance. So the first helpdesk person gave me the wrong info  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
umm..

to receive MYR it's 3.4% + RM2
USD 2.9 + 0.30cents USD

hmm. so, in other words.. u have some funds in paypal and paid balance from your card for your purchase yea?
hehe.. good to know..

however, checked the refund balance in your card.. you might not get back the same amount if forex conversion is involved... you might gain or lose... but USD.. LOL.. sudah naik.. maybe gain a lil.. =P

haha.. guess what? you might be speaking to a malaysian customer service earlier =)

appreciate if anyone could advise me on this.
i have a paypal account with 2 currencies (MYR & AUD).
i want to withdraw it all into my maybank account
the MYR balance is very little. is there any way for me to combine the amount in both currencies into MYR & then deposit into mbb?

sorry, i'm new to paypal sad.gif
*
unfortunately you can't combine them..
if it's a small amount like <50MYR.. probably use it to buy movie tickets instead

do check the fees charged for withdrawal smile.gif

it's actually RM 5  sweat.gif what can i do with that? plus I don't want to link it to my CC.
btw, how long does it take to transfer into a local MBB account? it says 3working days but is it faster/slower than that?
*
Withdraw to your bank account
Banks in Malaysia
2-3 Business Days popup Free
If RM400.00 MYR or more is withdrawn

RM3.00 MYR
If less than RM400.00 MYR is withdrawn
Banks in the U.S.
3-4 Business Days popup Free for banks in the U.S.
Withdraw funds to your card 5-7 Business Days popup RM20.00 MYR

lol.. i think if i'm you.. i rather not withdraw at all..
u only get back RM2 hahaha...

i would understand the reason why you don't wanna link your CC... my CC kena fraud few times ady..
well.. if you really wanna make use of that RM5 in your account and if you got CIMB account.
go create KWIK account without physical card.. verify the card on PP.. then u get back your money.. then use it to buy movie tix =P

hmm.. there should have a Contact Us page somewhere.. but usually for withdrawal, they will check your name and account number.. if doesn;'t match then will bounce back.. and got certain charges also if not mistaken..
