The Xperia XZ is a solid all-round handset that does a lot of things right — a handset to restore the faith of Sony fans. Its greatest sin is probably looking a little dull — this is no Galaxy Note 7, after all — but once you look path its monolithic exterior there's a lot to like. Sony bucks the trend of 2K displays and instead goes with a fantastic looking 1080p panel, with power savings as a result. Performance is speedy across the board, and Sony's software is thoughtful and measured. And we're finally seeing a significant leap forward in camera performance in an Xperia phone, with big hardware additions that result in better photos almost every time. The problem for Sony, like so many other Android manufacturers, is the fact that Samsung's absolutely crushing it this year. Sony's camera is great, but it's not the best. Same deal with its screen, its build quality and its battery life. And U.S. buyers once again get the short end of the stick, as Sony cheaps out on fingerprint security. As such, the XZ's appeal is likely limited to hardcore Sony fans. And if that's you, then you'll be getting a hell of a phone. |

Sony's got it right with their front facing speakers, and with an inclusion of a MicroSD slot. The screen seems to be another IPS LCD since they're stating Triluminos in there.
Audiophiles will certainly take kindly to the 24-bit capable sound output, but the battery size at 2900 mAh sounds a little hampering. And if it's one thing when it comes to repairing waterproof phones from them - don't do it. But reading the price labels when it arrives - well, knowing Sony I'd cringe. |

If camera quality is really a huge factor, why not just get a DSLR? Nowadays you can also directly share your pics through Facebook and social media, plus much more efficiency, instead of complaining phones camera issue, cause for a camera guy, phone camera is definitely not enough.

people are demand too much.. but the theory behind of photography is not breakable.. small sensor in smartphone camera will not achieve any special wow impact..
even the professional also need proper lighting/tripod for photography.. so dont expect any smartphone camera can exceed DSLR/real camera in real life.. smartphone camera are usable for daily life capture.. expect some blur/noise.. other than that, all manufacturers are trying to deliver something to attract some new buyers and feel their products are WOW.. in fact, still under 1/2.3 inch sensor or 1/3.2 inch sensor.. |

Referring to BtekT review...the camera still got overheating problem. In my experience with Xperia Z3 and Z5 this is the biggest dissapointment. Almost one time feel like want to throw away the phone to the floor. Lucky its only apps problem and still can used google camera apps for shooting.

For this, blue is an almost given. So many flag ships out there that's black or white or silver or gold.
Blue proves to be something unique and special. Also, have to hand it to Sony for breaking their usual tradition of super high pricing, and instead, choosing to launch it at a more competitive pricing. I noticed 11 street mentioning shipping starting on the 6th October (Thursday). Hope this is true! That means 1 week till we'll get it in our hands? |

this phone looks good but have to play on hand only know.
still 1080p, note 7 is it 2k? heard that snapdragon 820 got heating problem is it true? also im wondering why the finger print sensor put aside... i like the leaning behaviour like charging ur phone till 90% and stop, then tomorrow morning will help u charge till 100% to avoid for overcharge ur phone. good for ppl that always forgot to turn off the charger when go to sleep |

Everyone has their own preferences about the location of fingerprint scanners. While i personally like Sony's side mounted fingerprint scanner, i also like LG and Huawei's back mounted scanners as well.
If there's such technology as fingerprint scanner on screen, i think we don't ever need to rant which is ideally the best location to fit a fingerprint scanner. Side note : I've played with the X Compact and the fingerprint scanner is blazing fast. Just press the power button and it's unlocked, split seconds faster than other competitors. |

Managed to hold and try the XZ yesterday.. it does look good.. thinking of going for it to replace my Z3... really scared of the pricing of all flagship phone nowdays..
HAve been using Xperia Z1 and then Z3.. thinking of changing brand.. or still sticking with xperia. I was hooked with xperia Z due to the magnetic charging.. but not in the X series it seems.. |
