I have 4 plots of agriculture land between 55000 to 60000 sq ft each.

Need some advice, planning to do some plantation but dunno what and where to start with.

Hope someone can enlighten me.

4 plots, close to each other? Logistic ? Location? High value land? You may be better off renting out the land if it is high value? Water source? Weather history?

Just temporary job (probably a month), doesn't matter local kampung people or foreigner, as long as they are hardworking and meet our daily quota.

well if you wanna hire hardworking people...foreigner is the only way...

go to nearby construction site and ask those foreigners if they know any friends or relatives wanna work, they might intro those youngsters to work which can be cheap..

May I know what are the fruit trees that I can plant along the river banks? I would like to use some plants to protect the river banks from water current.

Are coconut trees OK? Sugar Cane? Banana?

I don't think the trees / plants can actually protect the river bank. The current if it's strong , shall wash away the soil, even rocks. I think the trees / plant only helps stabilize, but would not protect.

Maybe you can consider Vertiver (grass)?

Also, what can I plant along river bank? If not for protection of soil. Currently, the river bank is full of plants that look like sugar cane. Does that mean, sugar cane is well suited as well? Many wild banana trees too.

You can try the bigger nurseries? Mine was given by a friend.

I have tried Banana, Wax Apple, Jackfruits, soursop & sugar cane. It depends on how high is the bank from the river? You shall have to consider flooding during heavy raining season.

Do you think i still can utilise the remaining space for something else? if yes, what do you suggesting please?

Very nice place.
Of course you can utilize the remaining space and there is a bonus with irrigation. You can do an estimate on the spacing, tree canopy, period to fruiting. Then work on some smaller plants (cash crops) in between.

after much thought and the rising cost of living, i've finally kickstarted my home aquaculture project. Hope anybody here can point out if there's any need to refine my current very basic system since i've only recently venturing into this craft of raising fish.



basically, this is the breakdown of my aquaculture setup

fish tank--> bottom drain---->valve---->vortex filter-----(+valve--->separate pipe for draining fish waste)------>mechanical/bio filtration---->submersible pump---->UV filter-----> spillway ----> back to fish tank.

At this point, we've just dry fitted most of the parts together with just the pump part and spillway left to do

Am also going to fill part of it with gravel bottom and grow some water lilies and freshwater bivalves like clams to help with feed on excess food and fish crap..

hope anyone can give some feedback on my little project

Ums is selling fingerlings now, though it would be a great idea to fatten some tilapias..

Btw im adding a venturi system in the spillway tank to reoxygenate the water before it returns to the grow out tank

nice one bro, I too interested in tilapia farming although no experience at all, but now concentrating on ayam kampung farming first

do you plan to make it in large scale? or just enough for self consumption?
