Guys, please keep an eye for this extremely dangerous weed species:

http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014...Negri-Sembilan/

It has the ability to prevent flowering and fruit set in crops, poison goats and cows, and cause skin rashes and severe dermatitis in humans. In people with allergic reaction to it, the weed can result is arrested breathing, severe swellings, and tissue scarring. It can take up to 3 months or more to be cured from the effect of this dangerous plant.

The pollen grains can block pollination in many crop plants, and the seeds can remain persistent in the soil for more than 10 years. It is glyphosate resistant, but can be killed using salt water at a ratio of 1:4 salt to water. If hand weeding is the only option, always use gloves and coveralls.

Please google for the picture of the plant Parthenium hysterphoris to familiarize yourself with plant. This is crucial, as it closely resembles the edible Ulam Raja plant, and the ornamental Baby's Breath flowers. It is currently being found not only on farmland and oil palm plantations, but also residential areas and roadsides.

Should you any traces of the plant, please contact your local Department of Agriculture immediately.

Right now, it is found in the following areas, but is rapidly spreading all over the country:

Perak - Kinta, Hulu Perak, Selama, Perak Tengah, Manjung, Kuala Kangsar, Pokok Sena, Manjung, Larut, Matang

Selangor - Hulu Selangor, Kampung Tunku

Kedah - Kulim, Sidam, Kuala Muda, Kota Setar

Negri Sembilan - Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Port Dickson, Tampin, Jelebu, Rembau, Labu

Sabah - Kampung Lasing Ranau

Johor - Unspecified

Melaka - Unspecified

I guess you shall need to speak with the officer of DOA in your area. Depending on what projects the gov is promoting, there may be some incentives available. For loans, you may try Agro Bank. You need to check with them for the criteria. Many times, things are not what it is stated.

guys, wanna is it profitable if just plan to rear around 2k tilapias?

how much can earn? how much is the estimate cost to start and how much is the estimated yield/sales? just a rough figure will do.

thanks

2k. Lets say have a 1.5 FCR. 1.5kg of feed produces 1 kg of fish. And u want to sell the fish at 300gms(c fish@rm5). So 2000 x 0.3kg = 600kg. For your fish to reach 600kg u need 600 x 1.5 = 900kg of feed. Pellets cost around RM2.80/kg. So RM2.80 x 900 = RM2520. And your sales will be RM5 x 600 = RM3000. So theres not much to be made at all with 2000 C fish. Unless u sell A fish @ 0.7kg per fish. So you can roughly do the math now. I hope i didnt mislead or misinform.

Concrete or Earthen, the concept of the bottom is the same.

Maybe you met the wrong distributor. Selling Tilapia is the easiest of all.
The fish itself nowadays supplies was really low, not enough to meet the demand.

Yeah maybe i havent dugdeep enough looking for buyers. Its a multi million dollar industry. Gotta deep further in. Haha

Might have slower growth then pellets or meat based foods. But apparently duckweed has 40% protein. And the fishes love it. I can never grow enough. I have designated ponds which are solely for duckweed and using used water from the fish tanks. And i still do not have enough duckweed for the whole farm. But remember to add some other fishes which doesnt eat duckweed to control mosquitoes. Like the Moustache fish or prawns. Our arowanas love the moustache fish.

Didn't grow it on purpose. It came with the pot of water lily purchased from a vendor earlier. Added guppies for mozzy control. Then i started to realize the pot constantly gets filled with duckweed. rclxub.gif
