Just a quick info on Klibor since it is OT. Not expert on this. This was discussed on and off here. For the CIMB one have been getting 5.2% every 3 mths. Was alerted by one of the forumer that his has been called back by CIMB. So waiting for mine to be called back in Oct. Better for u to Google for more info under FRNID and Klibor.

MBB last year GIA-i with last 2 mth 6% payout, have not received the difference from them. Called the branch to chase after it. First time in last 4 or 5 mths that they missed it.

Anyway due on Oct 5. Was told the original amt will go on auto renewal and have to go to bank to terminate it.

A bit tricky with the T n C :

2. The Promotion Fixed Deposit (“FD”) is to be ‘Pre-book’ in different batches and the fund must be earmarked in the customer’s MYR Current Account/ MYR Savings Account/ CNY Demand Deposit Account for 21 days to 33 days, Thereafter， the fund will be transferred to FD Account for 9 months FD on the designated FD placement date.

So eff rate:
3.97% p.a. – 4.05% p.a.

Thats why has to be careful. Don't jump into the wagon too fast. Has to be cool and read the details before shouting out !

Ya, that is the best advice one can give. You have been doing that from what I observed. But it is good to be careful. Just like I read the T n C for the offer mentioned earlier.

Asked CIMB RM on their FD for 100k:

12 mth Islamic 3.85%
12 mth Conventional 3.75%

3 mth Islamic 4%
3 mth conventional 3.90%

But I am only interested in 12 mth rate. Just to be careful if OPR should drop again.

Yes, similar RHB campaign. But the one I quoted was >1 yr ago. So the FD rate is different.

For Islamic one only, there is option to get monthly interest.

Confirmed with CIMB RM that 12 mth is 3.85%. When did u hear 3.95% ? We are talking about CIMB, HL is 3.95%.

My 2012 CIMB Klibor going to be called back. 10 years maturity !

My CIMB RM told me the new Klibor to be launched tomorrow. First year return 5%, remainding 4 yrs 4.9%. Lower than the 5.2% rate for the "old" Klibor.

This 5 yrs one is better than the 10 yrs one that I am holding !! Waiting for it to be called back on 3/10.

A bit OT here. Have got their Klibor and have been getting returns from I think 5.5% to the current one 5.2% for last 6 years, But the new one 5 yrs better than the 10 yrs that I signed up for. Pay out quarterly.

Read the T n C if it suits u. But u may get 0 if the interest rate moves against u !! Watchout !

"My CIMB RM told me the new Klibor to be launched tomorrow. First year return 5%, remainding 4 yrs 4.9%."

Min 65k.

My old one will be called back.

Captain gen-x in Facebook mentioned 4% for >100k in UOB. But for Oct mth, not sure yet. I will go for this if 4% still available next week.

Old promo ended. Oct promo not out yet

In AmBank to withdraw FD. Asked for additional interest for the FD that matured on 1/10 Saturday. They will credit it to my SA later.

As UOB 4% for >100k has ceased, just 3.95%, so went to RHB to place 12 mth 4% FD.

I will move the FD around for higher return if it is worth the effort. If the AmBank lost interest is low over the Sat to Tuesday, would not have asked for it. But some people may have different threshold for it.

But yesterday another incident. Did BC at AmBank for RM0.68 and also RENTAS to Affin. It took >3 hrs to reach Affin. Last time experience with Maybank is almost instant, 5 minutes.

Not yet, not yet half way. Then CIMB Klibor and MBB GIA-i matured today. So still juggling between FD and the ASNB FP.

By Friday likely to still put into FD again as unable to get all that I want.

Aspire is 50k and above.

MBB Premier Wealth is 250k and above.

Private Banking is by invitation only. Some banks are 3 mil and above. Maybank one is lower but is on invitation only.

Met RHB condition few years back. BM told cannot be FD only, has to be investment products. Please confirm before we talk about the "deal". Hahaha !

You can always try. My experience with UOB is they are pretty stiff though I am their PB. Even with large sum for promo rate, hard to get higher rate. But no harm for u to ask especially it is a large sum. If have RM, ask the RM or WhatsApp RM.
