Question, if Person A uplifts her FD OTC in CIMB, can she request for the fund to be directly banked in to CASA of Person B? OTC as well, not through CDM, without the presence of Person B. Thanks
*
My experience with RHB, NOT CIMB:

It used to be a simple instruction OTC, just gave the CASA acct number of person B.

Then last year, they tighten the procedure and want me to sign an undertaking form to xfer the matured FD amt to person B.

Anyway, I think can be done. Just what form u will be required to sign without presence of person B. smile.gif

any sign of new FD PROMO?

my Affin FD due today..  if nothing better come up.. then i will hv to park with HLB 3.95% efd.

For Affin current promo, I heard for busuh fund (old fund), can top up 10 or 20% to get the promo rate. But then again can negotiate with them on the actual amt needed to get the promo rate. biggrin.gif

I wud say 4% is decent considering current Bank rates
*
I would be happy with 4% for now. Have been using 4% to calculate the interest earned. 4.5% is a bonus previously. rclxms.gif

3.95% still can accept. But <3.9 will cry.gif . biggrin.gif

They dun allow 'old fund' to njoy current promo
*
Confirmed what I said earlier to be true. Could be branch to branch implementation issue. But that branch did call to HQ and reduced the amt needed to top up to get promo rate (for matured FD). Lower than what they quoted earlier, for top up. biggrin.gif

after 16th august, it's 3.58% , try to calculate again

Unless the placement is after the change, the obtained rate will be between the old and new rate, calculated daily.

*
Ya, MBB eGIA-i rate has been changed twice down from 4% to 3.58%. The rate is not locked, unlike FD.

So much talks on BNM reducing rate again this year. sad.gif

Would like to report that it is not possible for CIMB. Even Person A and B are joint holders for the FD  doh.gif
*
CIMB control so tight ? doh.gif I was able to do this in RHB and AmBank without any issue.

The interest I earned for GIA in August is about 3.646% which is lower than 3.75% as advertised on the website.

Just made eFD placement of HLB via FPX. Surprisingly, the interbank fund transfer via FPX is instant and no need to wait like the IBG. Most importantly, it did not incur any charges. Have anyone use the FPX with other banks ? Appreciate if can share with me some of your experience.
*
The MBB GIA-i interest calculated daily. The 3.646% is due to the some of the days, it was 3.75% and some of the days it was 3.58%. You have to calculate to see it for yourself. Depends on placement date and the date when MBB changed from 3.75% to 3.58%.

I re-calculate the interest rate based on the following;

Principal X interest rate /100 X 31/366.
If I calculate the daily interest based on rate of 3.75%, the total interest will marginally more than what has been credited to my account.
*
Calculate the interest based on when the GIA-i was placed.

See the dates below:

Profit rate fluctuates.

Profit rates 1/8 to 15/8 3.75%
Profit rates 16/8 to 31/8 3.58%

Affin 4.33% FD matured today.

Renewed to 4.05% 15 mth FD by topping up amt. Their requirement:

<100k, 10%. >100k 20% of matured FD amt.

Earlier one of my relative has >100k FD matured, refused to top up the 20%. Affin called to HQ to waive it, just top up 5k. Nego, yeh ! biggrin.gif

Prior going to Affin this morning, called to OCBC and UOB.

OCBC FD promo 9 mths 3.75% conventional, islamic one 3.8%

UOB FD promo 7 mths 3.85%, 12 mths 3.95%

So UOB FD promo better than OCBC. biggrin.gif

Mine also 4.33%, today renewed to the 4.05%.

Funny thing is if want the package 2, have to wait till debit card approved before can get the 4.15% rate. So let it go. biggrin.gif
