QUOTE(gchowyh @ Dec 8 2016, 08:03 PM) No worries, usually I thought it only arrives nearer to the New Year. Can't remember if you're a Ambank priority banking or not but do let me know if you manage to get their diary ya So far I got no excuse to go there. Nope, any BR customer can get it. Added AmBank (called by them) and RHB (auto upgrade) PB recently. But don't really want to get too many diary/organiser unless it is for children/friends/family members. Is AmBank one good for previously years ?

QUOTE(dannyw @ Dec 9 2016, 08:55 AM) Serious? Means my one have problem again? My one place on 8 Nov, so by yesterday should add to principal of 1 month Interest, right? Anyone can share? Thanks Serious ! During placement, I got itchy hand. One of the placement I chose Islamic FD placement, that one die not receive the monthly interest. I checked, it showed "credit to principal" for interest. Not sure if Islamic FD do not have the monthly interest option or I did not choose the option correctly. The Conventional FD received the monthly interest. Is yours Islamic FD placement ? This post has been edited by bbgoat: Dec 9 2016, 10:08 AM

QUOTE(dannyw @ Dec 9 2016, 10:17 AM) Nope. My is normal Conventional FD. Call up to find out already. The CS say, if opt for 'Credit to Principal' then won't get the monthly interest, only those who select 'Credit into account' will get interest monthly. So is this statement apply to you correctly? The HL FD is "Interest credit to account". Except my Islamic FD is "credit to principal".

QUOTE(chrisoth80 @ Dec 9 2016, 11:24 AM) The Eligible Customers are required to nominate a CASA / CASA-i Account maintained with HLB / HLISB under the individual name of the Eligible Customers (“Nominated CASA / CASA-i”) for the purpose of crediting the interest/profit earned under this Promotion. The interest/profit earned will be credited into the Eligible Customers’ Nominated CASA / CASA-i on monthly basis I thought it should apply automatically to all hlb e-fd as I did mine by choosing the option credit to savings for conventional. I din try any islamic though I logged in to HL Connect. The interest crediting option is important. If we chose the wrong option, we will not receive the monthly interest. 2 options, one is credit to account and add to principal. For my Islamic FD, apparently during the rush (as placing multiple thru' MBB FPX), I chose the credit to principal. Thus did not receive the monthly interest.

QUOTE(David3700 @ Dec 9 2016, 12:07 PM) I think "Interest Add On to Principal" means getting interest upon maturity only. Yup. We have to choose the options carefully during eFD placement. My mistake as placing multiple FPX thru' MBB, so careless in choosing the option.

QUOTE(dannyw @ Dec 9 2016, 02:46 PM) Wow, that's very good point that I never think of. Next time will know what to do. In my mind was, the Interest add in principal can generate more interest, I know is upon maturity. But I do not know there is a different on 'Credit into account' where can get the Interest on monthly basis. I thought will be the same during maturity, just the different of the Interest will bank into Saving account, instead of add on principal. Anyway, lesson learned! I think the monthly interest portion was not clear to the depositor during placement. Or maybe we missed out in the T n C. Some of my relative also thinking it is interest pay out on maturity, same as me. If it is interest pay out on maturity then which option we choose will not have any effect at the moment.

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Dec 9 2016, 05:48 PM) I have been asking around what benefits are there for Maybank Premier Banking but no one answered so far, do you know? I saw on the internet there is a customer appreciation dinner but I am not sure if my RM will get invites for me or not. If not much point having it I might as well just cancel it instead of having to remember to terminate it when I move my funds out later. U are asking about MBB's PB program ? I still have MBB Private Banking card with me from years ago. But have pulled out all my funds from them. They still tack me as Premier Banking and send me regular emails updates. While I am their Private Banking customer, NEVER receive any call from the RM !! MBB PB banking receive some prizes from what I know. That is in the Klang valley. Penang one seems not doing anything. Maybe other Penang MBB Private/Premier Banking customers can correct me.

QUOTE(raptar_eric @ Dec 13 2016, 10:48 AM) i chose interest add on to principle.. but abit confusing to me as well... to me, if it's like MBB GIA, then i can have the interest to obtain the promo rate as well added to the initial deposit.... however, TnC says that interest will be paid monthly... guess gotta wait for first month to see how it goes.. anyway, just opened a HLB savings acc and dumped some of my funds into the HLB promo.. last day guys, those who want to place better be fast! UPDATE: i just checked with HLB, if we choose credit to principle, the interest will only be credited upon maturity.. not monthly into the FD account lol To get monthly interest, have to choose credit to account option.

QUOTE(alison90 @ Dec 13 2016, 04:21 PM) Hlb efd.. does it have any limit for fpx transaction per day? I understand that we cannot more than 30k/transaction. But is there any limit for number of transactions? For example.. can I place 4X 10k today? HL did not have limit for the eFD placement. It is the other banks that u use for the FPX xfer. Try Maybank, u can probably use unlimited xfer as some of us has experienced. Unless they set a cap recently.

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Dec 15 2016, 06:40 PM) 4.33% for 5 years looks tempting but I think is a bit too long. Now with the US rates up maybe considering putting shorter periods? AmBank last year Nov still has the 2 yrs 4.6% FD promo. Really miss that now. But with the US rate increase and 3 more in 2017 (potentially), how that will affect M'sia side yet to be seen. Agreed that 5 yrs 4.33% does not look that attractive now.
