i have updated to V8.0.2.0.LHOMIDG (MIUI8) using EDL mode but still cannot enter recovery mode.
is that normal? Battery indicator is now functional.

Dear all GURUS, want to ask. If I purchase an import set, can I flash the ROM to global? Or how do i verify if that is an official global that is installed. I have no experience with Xiaomi phone. Hope you can help. Thanks.

But MTK Helio X10 SoC may overheats after 30 minutes..

mediatek or snapdragon?

you need to unlock bootloader and flash twrp to get recovery.

anyone can advice on the best way to root redmi note 3 sd? I am currently running on global stable which will fail at 50% when I try to unlock bootloader.

Apparently i need to flash to china dev rom then only can unlock bootloader then only can root the phone???? But china dev rom does not have google play which means need to install third party google play apps. I tried doing it once and it hard brick my phone. Luckily send it to warranty and they manage to restore back the phone but they installed global stable again. So I am back to square one.

Anyone have best solution?

We don't need to stay with China Dev ROM after unlock bootloader. Once unlocked, can flash to any ROM.... If we want a safe root without issue, better unlock the bootloader officially. Hence, cannot run away from China Dev ROM in order to unlock bootloader.
