It's better to keep the stock recovery if we're to update via OTA in the future.

I always let the TWRP running as read-only/temporarily just to do cache clean-up and rooting only.

Only Step #9 is crucial. I invoke fastboot boot recovery.img since I wanna keep the stock recovery all the time...

1) Save the SuperSU.zip in phones root directory
2) Turn off phone.
3) Vol down + Power combo.
4) Connect USB to PC.
5) At PC, fastboot devices,  then,  fastboot boot recovery.img
6) Choose "keep read-only"
7) Hit "Install"
8) Browse to the ZIP file.
9) Flash slider...
10) Hit Reboot.

Anyone of you using hybrid tray? I using sd + 2 sim  together... Recently the Sim 2 keep can't detect.. Each time need remove tray and reinsert.. Very annoying.. Anyone have the same problem? Not sure is hardware or software issue..

No issues after upgrading to 8.0.5. Was having issues with 8.0.2 beforehand, proximity sensor just wont work all the time but after the upgrade, everything is buttery smooth except instagram.

anyone can advice on the best way to root redmi note 3 sd? I am currently running on global stable which will fail at 50% when I try to unlock bootloader.

Apparently i need to flash to china dev rom then only can unlock bootloader then only can root the phone???? But china dev rom does not have google play which means need to install third party google play apps. I tried doing it once and it hard brick my phone. Luckily send it to warranty and they manage to restore back the phone but they installed global stable again. So I am back to square one.

Anyone have best solution?

I already have a MY set dark grey redminote 3. Recently I purchased redmi note 3 dark grey AP set and the dimensions of the phone is different :S? The AP set is a bit taller!

It is redmi note 3 pro. Even the box size a different wth!
The phone is legit. Specs all okay. CPU Z shows same dimensions for both my MY set rdn3 and the AP rdn3. But the AP one is clearly bigger! What should i do :S?

Not sure why but the RN3 that I have can't seem to have Security Apps feature, I have been searching for quite some time and even Googled it.

Anyway, I think I will need to erase the whole phone and flash to a good ROM. The more I use it, the more frustrated I am.

I was a flasholic during Samsung Note 2 days. Changed to custom firmware almost every 3 days. If those people are here, they will know me.

Anyway, I just checked first post and it seems my sister's unit is a Mediatek (hennessy) variant.
