tqvm bro, just want to ask, I've seen you signature before, and saw that you're using a 512Gb M.2 SSD. I've watched videos regarding SSD and it looks like a M.2 SSD read and write speed is much faster compared to a SATA SSD. just want to ask for an opinion, if you have the money, is it worth it to go for M.2 instead of a normal SATA SSD ? and not all motherboard support M.2 right ?
There are 2 types of M.2 SSD in the market, SATA based M.2 SSD and NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, M.2 is just an 'interface' or 'connector'.NVMe PCIe SSD is very fast but it is not worth my money if you ask me, I can't feel its existence in normal real life usage (I am just a normal user
SATA based M.2 SSD is much cheaper, almost identical to 2.5" SATA SSD, speed wise is also similar to 2.5" SATA SSD as they are using SATA interface. And yes not all mobo support M.2, even if it does support M.2, you will need to check whether it supports NVMe or not before purchasing a NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, if it doesn't, you can only install a SATA based M.2 SSD (like most of the laptops only support SATA M.2 SSD, except the newer one).
