Not so picky about maxing the graphics. Will it run fine if I replace the 1060 with a 1050ti?
*
Yes, it will run fine but will lower graphics settings and frame rate.

Thanks for your help.

Btw this doesn't include wifi right?
*
No, you can get a cheap USB WiFi adapter to connect to WiFi, if your router is dual band capable (or if you are subscribed to a high speed Internet package like TIME Fiber) then please get a dual band capable WiFi adapter as well to benefit from it.

Wooow! Can't believe someone just posted exactly the same thing I want to post just today (only budget lower by 1k). I'll just copy and paste then

Budget : RM 5k
Purpose : dota 2 max settings at 144fps constant
Hardware that will re use : monitor, keyboard mouse, ssd hd
Personal preference : GTX 1070, and i5 (i7 wouldn't make a difference for gaming right?)

Can I just use this spec but change with gtx 1070 and i5-6700?
Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1384
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 450
Palit GTX1080 8GB GDDR5X Gamerock - RM 2845
EVGA Supernova 650 GQ - RM 459
Segotep K7 Tempered Glass - RM 359
*
Yes you can, i7 will only show its advantage of the games you play do utilize the extra cores/threads (assuming similar clock speed), but for Dota 2, i5 will not have any issue handling it.

i5 6700 doesn't exist, I will just consider it as a typo biggrin.gif

Looking for something small to put in the room instead of a large casing therefore looking to build a micro or mini ITX comp. Currently playing overwatch. I do not need much upgrades in the comp as I do not overclock. Just basic watching movies and shows, playing some average games on Steam, working on word docs. Generally would want a pc that can last me for the next 3 to 5 years hopefully? 5 years is a stretch but trying to be hopeful haha.

Item Price Comment
Mini / Micro ITX Casing RM180 CM Elite 130?
Mobo XXX Not particular with the brand
i5 processor XXX i5 should be good enough?
GTX 1060/1070 XXX Not sure if 1060 or 1070 to use
| 2 x 8GB Ram | XXX | Value ram would be good|
PSU XXX Not sure what PSU
SSD XXX Maybe at least a 128gig?
HDD XXX Maybe at least a 1TB?

Budget RM3000? not sure if that works

Thanks everyone
*
3k budget cannot fit GTX1070, GTX1060 3GB is still possible if you are planning to include a 120GB SSD, basically what you can get with 3k now (with the current RM situation) is just a rig with i5 + GTX1060 6GB (maybe 3GB only after price hike) + 8GB RAM and no SSD (monitor, peripherals all excluded), you will need to top up your budget to include other optional parts/hardware.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 906
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 278
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 476
MSI GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 OC - RM 1120 <this seems to be out of stock currently *>
Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB SSD - RM 203
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
CM Elite 130 - RM 178

Total: RM 3554 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Fully modular PSU is recommended for SFF/mITX setup to eliminate unused cables from piling up in the case (reduce airflow and dust collector), but this will increase the total cost needed, the current chosen PSU isn't a fully modular PSU FYI.

* Please look for other card/model if product is out of stock.

This should work with my Samsung S20C300BL (VGA only) + Zotac Mini 1050Ti? Not sure the correct place to ask. Or any other solution except for buy new monitor

http://www.ebay.com/itm/381196548530
*
Just buy locally, HDMI to VGA or DVI to VGA adapter will do, DP to VGA is harder to find in Malaysia, cheaper than buying from overseas (+ the time needed to wait for its arrival).

Hi terence_nwb,

let's say i have the same budget of RM4k and at the same time oredi have:

1) DELL monitor
2) Seasonic S12G psu

what are stuff that is/are recommended for upgrade from the list? appreciate your input wink.gif
*
Price hiked in the past few days due to poor RM currency performance lately bangwall.gif

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 903
MSI B150M Pro-VDH - RM 340
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 476
Gigabyte GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Xtreme Gaming - RM 1399
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 315
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
Segotep K7 Tempered Glass - RM 359

Total: RM 3997 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Well, your budget can fit a GTX1070 FYI if you do this (with less "premium" looking stuffs):
1. Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 238
2. Palit GTX1070 8GB GDDR5 Dual - RM 1859
3. Segotep Gank II - RM 179

A build with GTX1070 allows you to run games at higher graphics settings and frame rate due to the additional 40% (average) performance boost from GTX1070 (GTX1060 -> GTX1070), but you need to sacrifice the other parts like RAM and casing to fit it.

If your monitor resolution is 1080p only (I assume yes but you never mention it, same goes to PSU, I assume it is at least 500W), then GTX1060 will be able to serve you well.

i3 6100 i guess

Price hiked a lot recently due to weak RM currency performance, if you want to meet all your requirements then you will need to top up your budget.

Hi guys,

Would like to ask what's the best option with a 4k-4.5k budget?

I already have an existing 1TB HDD from my old rig which can be carry forward to my new rig with a SSD addition.

Main usage will be for gaming smile.gif
*
What about monitor (and other peripherals), do you need them too?

QUOTE(turbocache @ Nov 24 2016, 11:31 PM)
Guys, need help on suggest gaming rig (not sure mitx or matx)

Can suggest for both?

Budget : RM 4 - 4.5k
Purpose : gaming
Hardware that will re use : none
Personal preference : i5 6500, Zotac 1070 mini

Thanks in advance ^^
*
If you are looking for small form factor (SFF) rig then you need to go for mITX, mATX is still too big to qualify as SFF, if space doesn't really matter too much to you then I suggest you to go for mATX for better airflow and upgrade path in the future.

Both builds could be exactly similar except the mobo choice and casing, so just let me know which form factor you want and I will proceed further (try to search for your desired casing first to help you to decide if you don't have any idea now).

Zotac GTX1070 Mini doesn't have backplate and run at stock reference clock speed, you can consider other card like Gigabyte Windforce if you want to overcome all these "drawbacks" (except the 5 years warranty by Zotac).

Really? Not sure where I saw, it showed with backplate,  hmm.gif

Any suggestion for monitor? I think might downgrade to 1060 since have to allocate for monitor.
*
Is this the Zotac Mini you are looking for?

https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_c...gtx-1070-mini-0

If yes then this model doesn't have backplate, PCB is exposed directly.

As for monitor, plenty of choices to make, you prefer screen type or response time? If screen type then you will need to sacrifice a bit on the response time, for example, IPS with 4ms or TN with 1ms.

Many possible builds with your budget, you can downgrade the GPU to GTX1060 6GB if you want to save money (same goes to PSU), you can also change the casing to your own preferred casing (just make sure the form factor is correct).

[Budget] 2.5k if can, max 3k

[Purpose]Gaming and daily browsing

[Hardwares that will be re-use] 750ti brand I think is Zotac or Palit, 24inch benq 60hz monitor and all keyboard mouse

[Monitor resolution] currently have a 24inch benQ, if I add another 24inch 144hz is it possible? As in can my VGA support?
[Games & softwares that use frequently] League of Legend max setting , Overwatch Medium setting can liao

[Personal preferences] cheap.will be buying in mid December, will the price change much?

[Location] KL
*
Price is changing almost everyday now due to the poor performance of our currency, high chance that you will need a new price list (or build list) in December sweat.gif

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 906
MSI B150M Pro-VDH - RM 340
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 238

Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 315
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
Corsair VS450 - RM 162
Segotep Gank II - RM 179

Total: RM 2345 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If you want to allocate part of your budget for the 144Hz monitor, you can remove the SSD and use the funds to get BenQ Zowie XL2411 (around RM 1150)/Acer XB240H (around RM 1000, not sure still got stock or not).

Checked the comments of the review, it seems like no backplate for most of the buyers, I am not entirely sure if our local unit comes with backplate or not, you might want to check with any of the local retailer for final confirmation, the image gallery of this model posted on the official website doesn't show any backplate though.

Acer R241Y/Dell S2316H - around RM 600+/-, entry level IPS monitor biggrin.gif

Hi sifus ,i need help on suggest gaming rig (matx or atx)

Can suggest for both? Possible with 3k budget?

Budget : RM 3k Max
Purpose : gaming
Hardware that will re use : SSD, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
Personal preference : i5 Skylake, Zotac@MSI@Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB

Thanks in advance
*
Due to budget constraint, the only difference for both builds is just the casing (either mATX or ATX), this is because ATX mobo will cost you another RM 200 (more or less).

Intel Core i5 6402P - RM 767
ASRock B150M-HDV - RM 283
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 238
Gigabyte GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Windforce - RM 1269

FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Segotep Gank II - RM 179

Total: RM 3129 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Not sure if you need a new HDD or not, if don't need, please remove it and the total cost will be within your budget.

will my GPU able to utilize 144 on League or Overwatch? dual screen 1080 somemore
*
Stable 144 FPS is very hard to achieve with your current GPU (medium settings should be around 90+/-), dual monitors setup isn't a big issue since only 1 monitor will be used when gaming, meaning the GPU is still going to render the same amount of pixels of your current single monitor setup. Higher VRAM usage is unavoidable, the second screen will consume around 200 MB (more or less) from your total video memory pool.

hi guys...need some help here. i need help to actually make a budget for building pc for a cc dat im goin to established in near future. pliz help me... icon_question.gif

[Budget] ~2000 (lower the better)

[Purpose] Cyber cafe for gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] everything is new  thumbsup.gif

[Monitor resolution] 1080

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota 2, CS:GO, LOL, FIFA Online 3, Paladin, Warframe, Blackshot etc

[Personal preferences] at least can play at mid setting for high graphic games
*
Not guaranteed can run all graphics demanding games at medium settings with your allocated budget for each PC, this is due to the nature of PC titles being too inconsistent when speaking about the performance, some might be good but some might be as bad as a "pure" console port without doing any kind of post optimization work.

Intel Pentim G4400 - RM 240
ASRock H110M-HDV - RM 245
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 238
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 - RM 489
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
Corsair VS450 - RM 162
Armageddon T1x - RM 95
AOC E2180SWDN - RM 329
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM 65

Total: RM 2068 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Price is changing almost everyday now especially CPU and RAM price due to the poor performance of our local currency, if you don't plan to get them within this week (or this month), you might need to ask again in the future as the price and build might not be the same.

Thx for suggestion  notworthy.gif

I have few question in my mind.

1) Compare your suggest mobo with MSI B150M Pro-VDH which one better? In term of future proof & Upgraded?
2) How about change the GPU with Gigabyte GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 G1 Gaming? I like the rgb lighting  wub.gif
3) Change the RAM to Avexir Core Series ddr4 8Gb 2400mhz led?
4) Its PSU more then enough?  hmm.gif  Maybe change to 600w?
5) Compare Segotep Gank II with Techware F3 which one better? But i like techware design more  rclxub.gif

Sorry too many question since this is my first time build pc & sory for my bad english  sweat.gif

p/s: I dont mind to increase abit to 3.5k if its more worth  nod.gif
*
1. Both mobo are running a similar chipset (B150), so please expect the features offered by each of them will be almost the same apart from few extra I/O ports from the more expensive one. MSI B150M Pro-VDH comes with 4 RAM slots (vs 2 on ASRock), 1 SATAe port (not really that important and useful nowadays), USB 3.1 (vs 3.0 on ASRock, but 3.1 adoption rate is pretty low currently) and so on. NVMe M.2 SSD is not supported by both of them, if you plan to get a speedy next gen NVMe M.2 SSD then you might need to consider other mobo (this will increase the total cost needed but more future proof).

2. Yes you can do so but you need to top up for it.

3. Yes you can do so too but the RAM speed will be downclocked to 2133MHz automatically due to the nature of B150 chipset, only Z170 can support RAM speed > 2133MHz.

4. 550W is more than enough, power consumption of the new hardware is getting lower and lower now.

5. Tecware F3 is a mATX casing whereas Segotep Gank II is a ATX casing, if you don't plan to reuse the casing for future mobo upgrade (to ATX mobo) then F3 is fine.

Hello! Im planning to build mini itx gaming rig soon so i will need few examples from senpais here. My budget is 3k max. thanks! biggrin.gif
*
If only rig is needed then you should be able to fit an i5 + GTX1060 3GB. Something like this will work:

Intel Core i5 6402P - RM 767
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 278
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 232
Zotac GTX1060 3GB GDDR5 Mini - RM 989
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
CM Elite 130 - RM 178

Total: RM 2837 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If you don't mind adding some money on top of your available budget then you can consider upgrading the GTX1060 3GB to full specs 6GB model, same goes to SSD.

Thx terence_nwb for your suggestion. Already bought the rig yesterday from Etech. I  go for 1060 Extreme Gaming since G1 Gaming 6G already out of stock..but i got discount for that gpu since its last unit  laugh.gif. I think the gpu will overkill my current monitor since it max support 1600*900 only (Samsung S20B300B)  sweat.gif .
I think i need to buy 1080p monitor to unleash the gpu potential. I cant decide between this two model BENQ  GW2270H or Acer G227HQL. What im worried right now if i go for benq its ok for gaming since its use VA panel. What i got from internet many said not recomended VA panel for gaming since it  got ghosting issue  sweat.gif. .Can suggest me any monitor that good under RM450?

p/s: Sorry since my question is out of topic  sweat.gif
*
VA and IPS, both are having almost similar response time (4ms for Acer's IPS and 5ms for BenQ's VA), I doubt you will see any difference. RM 450 can mostly get entry level 1080p 60Hz monitor, TN panel will be the best option if you want lowest response time among all the panels type available.

Where did you see the ghosting issue on VA panel? So far I haven't heard back any ghosting issue from the users here on their purchase of VA monitor though.

– ASRock B150M-ITX = RM364 @ DotaTech IT
– Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 161
– Aerocool KCAS 500W 80+ Bronze = RM186 @ Castle IT
– CM Elite 130
– Got Onboard Graphics? Good enough?
– Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue = RM196 @ ITCOM
- Full HD >20" Dell /HP LCD

Budget <3k

Should I change to a cheaper Processor and get a better graphic card?

Since no gaming is involved, onboard GPU is enough.

The CPU (i5 6500) price has increased, it is now RM 905 according to Idealtech pricelist sweat.gif
