Hi guys, does compression pants really help in reducing muscle soreness & improving performance?  I am planning to buy my 1st 2XU compression short.
*
I only wear my long compression pant after marathon n went to sleep...

Next day wake up with fresh legs

That's my experience.

Wow, anyone with similar experience? My FM vetaran friend tried to run this year's PBIM with long compression pant & he said it helped a lot.

I'm still not convinced mainly due to the price therefore any feedback is very much appreciated.

*
Y U NO Trust ur FM veteran friend but ask us here?

this is very subjective matter... what good for 1, dont mean good for rest.

ie my calf cant take calf guard compression but long compression pant is okay.

if price is issue, train harder, smarter, then no need wear compression.
wearing compression boost ur confidence, image, bla bla bla etc...

sekian my 2cents.

I'm planning get GPS watch under 1k, I'm currently looking at:
Garmin FR15 w/ HRM,
Garmin FR220
Polar M400

Anybody here use Polar watches?

I do road running more, hiking/trial run once a week.
Any opinion?
*
Ex-polar user.
Polar is a good watch, too bad no longer have service centre in Msia or KL.

Not sure now got new authorised seller or service centre setup or not.

Now I'm an active Garmin VivoActive HR+ user... RM1099 during CIMB fair promo... RRP 1299, normal promo RM1199.

Next u want to check is the battery life for both

I'm using VivoActive HR+ (the correct name tongue.gif )

Love the battery life... Used it for running , cycling, & CrossFit

Also have d step counts... Initially wear to sleep to check on the sleep pattern... But now not bother... Haha...

Today I'm just realized on the cadence when I'm running...

It's average 169, with max 199... Most of time when I see my watch it's about 180 cadence...

I never know cadence can be this high....

Stride length is only 0.80m comparing to my other friend 1.17m....

Tuan Vin Ann,

Yes, to a certain extent. However, for your height that you described, the stride length can definitely be higher by 62%. Mine is 1.3meters and I consider my steps to be small but with high cadence.
*
Yes, Looi Sir...

Glad to read this message. i shall improve my stride length over a period of time while maintaining 180 cadence...

may i know how high cadence is considered as high?

My figures, an average runner, is as below,
During race, minimum cadence is around 185 with a high of 207. Average is 194.

During training, it averages 190 cadence.

If you aren't training to have high cadence during training day, but only do it during races then you are inviting injury

Doing Running form drills ATLEAST once a week will assist with cadence.
*
Yes Sir Sifu....

im just resume back to running after a long break... shall build up base slowly...

ah good to know mostly are eating energy gels for nutrition, not power bars/ricecakes etc... now i feel so stupid thinking back i was trying to open, chew, and swallow powerbar while running...

Shall try this on my next undecided, unregistered HM

Indeed it's very accurate i personally can start to feel no energy @ 1:30hrs into the run...
*
You can eat gel during ur 21km LSD training.

Different gels have different taste and our stomach react differently... Eat various type of gel to explore ur favourite!

done register SCKLM. will be my 2nd FM.
then there is this agreement:

"I have read and agree to abide by the new checkpoint and cut-off time systems as imposed by the Organiser. In the event i am unable to reach any checkpoints within the stipulated time, i will board the shuttle bus and be ferried back to Dataran Merdeka and will not entitled to collect my finisher entitlements."

hope no more kecoh-kecoh like PBIM when runners angry they dont get medal after COT.  mad.gif

2 things i learn from FM, train well and respect the distance.
*
Oh, forget today is payment day started right... Until when ah?

Let's target 5hrs and cross finishing line together
