Pick 1 FM which more meaningful to you as your virgin marathon

Try ask see which FM allow downgrade change to 21km

Unless if you brave enough, just do it

I likes the latest Energy Gel in our market - Huma Energy Gel

Tested in my LSD yesterday, no issue for body. Next marathon going to have 4 gels / 5 gels

It's all about mind over body

But with gel, psychology wise feel much better

There's no right o wrong answer.
Just try to see what timing best for u based on experience.

Refuel before hungry
1 gel for 45mins or longer to 60mins
Sometimes, even took 1 before start of race

Some gel too watery, some too thick...
