any thread or article that provide assessment n comparison among lounges, at least those in klia1 n 2? the other day when i try to sign in for ppl at klia2, the response is tis 2 r for klia1 only, tis one can access the opposite aerotel, tis one is ppl inside, then only i realise there are so many lounge for different card at diff location, more homework is needed before i apply all this travel cards.

You can often find the comparison & access of PPL from this thread. You need to scroll back for some reading.
First page info is also helpful, but CC PPL benefits change time to time, especially beginning of the year, sometimes they update slow.
Generally, less and less CC allow entry when flying LOCALLY (ie KLIA2) most of them can access for INTERNATIONAL terminal (ie Klia1). You can always check your CC website for the list.

Chartered Bank Priority customer CC is a very good one. ~ 1000 lounges worldwide including KLIA domestic.

All the information is in the front page, just that the TS is Mia, and recent changes have not been updated....

As for use of lounges, there aren't any lounges in the domestic airside areas....but in klia2, there are 3 outlets in the landside, which potentially domestic passengers can use....however, in recent months, both ambank and rhb have removed domestic passengers from access... others like Maybank, Aeon can still use for domestic travels...

The landside lounges were abused by some people...who used them when not travelling....hence the crack down by banks....

I think they still need boarding pass to enter. So the word 'abuse' is a bit misleading.

No, non travellers got in by just showing ic.... the lounge operators don't really care, every admission is income, charged to the bank....

I can testify to this, as I have got in by purposely just showing my ic, keeping my boarding pass hidden....the boarding pass is purely to establish identify....do the IC will also do....

Now, that is abuse alright.

But whenever I use those landside lounge, they always ask for my boarding pass. So the problem is lounge operator and travelers shouldn't be penalized

They ask ....but if you just give IC, they also accept....

The problem is cc owners who abused the privilege....and genuine travellers get penalised....

landside mean before immigration (before moving into boarding)? i only see 2, ppl n aerotel, will seek wheres the 3rd one next time. inside i saw 2, samasama n wellness spa. samasama look nice, wellness a bit old.

if i come back from overseas, any chance i can go into anyone of this? i think no if basing on strict rule. most of the time i believe the reception/cashier will look for boarding pass, perhaps there are some that uphold the tidak apa attitude, malaysian are mostly very friendly people among the world citizen.

i dun understand why the banks are so generous, what if we only use their card to enter ppl n nothing else, is this deemed abuse? or perhaps i shd say unfair. come to think of it, this is the only rare chance we can take advantage towards a bank.

Airside in airport usage means the restricted area where only passengers can enter....the 3rd landside "lounge" is the green market, which is a public access food outlet....you get a set meal with the cc.....

There is another small airside ppl in l-pier....after final security....

Because klia2 practices separation of passengers (ie arriving and departing are separated), you cannot access any of the airside lounges on arrival....but you can use the landside lounges, and you can use your used boarding pass to enter on arrival, it's allowed....

In KLIA, arrival and departure are mixed so you can access the ppl on arrival too....but means you may be late to pick up your check in luggages....no problem if you don't have check in....

As long as you are travelling, using your cc to use the lounges is fine....that's what the privilege is for....it's abuse when you use them WITHOUT travelling....

1. What if you board a flight departing overseas at 23:50 hr and landed next day 03:00 at KLIA/2. Can still use that boarding pass?

2. What if you use the lounge at KLIA and not pick up the luggage because connecting flight is only 08:00? Not safe to collect the luggage late?

Any idea?

1. Yes.....
2. Check you bags through, then you are free to enjoy the lounge in peace....if not, then you will need to collect your bags and go to departure to recheck in anyway.....if you are late, the bags will normally be collected by the staff and unfortunately in KLIA, they just leave them lying around next to the carousel.....there is always a risk someone may just walk off with your bag as there is no verification at exit....

I have done that at Changi, with the secured knowledge that the baggage services will collect residual bags and keep in "lost and found".....I just go to the counter show my tags and collect the bags....

Sifu2, I have a Maybank VI and planning to travel to an international destination, if I understand correctly, each entry is only allowed 3 hours at a time (depending on CC, is it possible to use the same card to access another PPL lounge on the same day?If no, is it possible to use different card?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm landing at about 1am. Quite a waste to book a hotel and I've considered sleeping at the airport until day breaks before getting to the city. Any tips to make this bearable?

Theoretically cannot, only 3 hours.
Technically, no one bother / trace whether you exceed 3 hours.
Reception will likely remind you about this, tell them you have another card for 2nd 3 hours.
You can only swipe it again after 3 hours though.
Unless the lounge is packed, else just continue your sleep.

I don't think the staff there is aware since there are so many people there unless you are in some very small lounges like the one in KLIA2.

I presume you mean landing in the international destination and using the lounge....in the majority of airports, there is separation of arriving and departing passengers, so arriving will have no access to the lounge.....

Assuming you are landing in a mix transit zone airport like KLIA and Changi t1-3, then you can use the ppl on arrival, for 3 hrs, but in busy lounges, they probably wouldn't know who is in lounge how long!....

If they are fussy, you can swipe another card for the next 3 hrs....have done that at Changi T1 ppl, swipe 2 different bank's cards at the same time, at entry just past MN, and stayed till 7am.....

There isn't any place to sleep, but you can lie down on some of the long bench seats....if you are a light sleeper, may not be enjoyable....lights on and noise as people still come and go, eat, drink, talk etc....

No. Use the current boarding pass you arrive with.... doesn't matter which airport issues the pass....

For HKIA PPL, they don't allow swiping 2 cards at the same time for 6 hours. You have to go back to reception after 3 hours.
