Tried on both the Santos de Cartier models in medium and large. They say square watches wear large...but they kinda don't I think? Side by side with a round watch the do look bigger, but having tried on the medium on my 6.25inch wrist I actually find it just a little too small. And the large is just a little too large (plus the date window is something I dislike). So I'm going to have to pass on this.

I have tried on a Rolex DJ in 36mm and that looks much better on my wrist, size-wise, than the medium Santos.

Yeah I want to the GS in sunway. Can get 10-15% off. But there is no stock for the SBGY007 Omiwatari - apparently wait times are 2-3 months with a 30% deposit required. Hard to believe it's come to the state where even GS needs wait times. Got a little fed up as I was told previously by them that I could get it in 1-2 weeks' time.

This kind of swayed me a bit to look at the Cartier Santos medium or large automatic. I see it's in stock on the website. Does anyone know if Cartier offers any discount in store? Thanks.

Are you only specifically after the Omi?
There were a slew of 9R31 based SBGYs released late last year which might be good alternatives.

I would’ve gone for the 017 if I could do it all again.

It's probably one of the few dials from GS that caught my eye, the Omiwatari. I was never taken with the snowflake and birches. I tried it on about a year ago and remember liking it, but would actually prefer trying it on one more time before I pull the trigger...

Clean dial with texture, no power reserve or date on the dial, very nice well proportioned case, spring drive movement...it just ticked all the boxes for a dress watch I'm looking for. Plus I don't think it's too dressy to the point where I can't wear it with a polo occasionally...

I also saw the 37mm sbgw281 which also looks nice but not as nice as the ice blue Omi.

I was at Cartier Gardens last night but some guy attended to me. Unfortunately I don't think either Santos de Cartier sizes work for me. The medium feels a little too small, and the large is a bit too large (plus don't like the date window). At this pricepoint I rather not have any reservations about the size...

It's odd because so many reviews say the medium Santos is best and works for wrists that are even larger than mine (16cm or 16.25inch). Yet when I tried it on every person who saw it (my wife and two Cartier guys) said the large looks better on me.

I wonder if poslaju works on a KL public holiday... doesn't appear so based on the progress. I guess it will be tomorrow then.

If you don't mind the strap length, you can get off-the-shelf straps from DeLugs or Nomad.

But if you want a custom strap to fit your wrist size or unique color/stiitching, buy a custom strap. The above accepts custom orders, as well as some local craftsmen (can be found in carousell).

Any of ya guys wearing Longines? i feel like they always have really big watches with horrible lug to lug sizes like 51 cm or something. I really dig Longines Spirit Series especially Zulu time. I also heard they are coming out with 39mm with Zulu, Legend Diver and Hydro Conquest which im stoked. I need a GMT watch.

As far as collecting watch, do you buy into this idea of "Limited Editions" ? Just a hype, or is good investment prospects ?

Buy what you like, not because of FOMO.

Watches, for the most parts, are pretty poor investments.

The ones which make good investments, most can’t afford/access.
