Though I have a question, would he be able to use nato straps on the "no date" version ? The dealer claimed that the lung of the submariner no date is the same with the date version hence nato straps could be used.
Could I please clarify this with you Sifu's over here ?
Thanks!

shankar_dass93 NATO straps come in various sizes; just need to find the right width for your watch. All Subs have the same lug width; think 22mm straps will fit the Sub.
Lug width on the Sub (both D and ND) is 20mm. And yes, no problem fitting a NATO on it.

The Sapphire Sandwich is a more classic model. Looks like the hesalite version but with the added durability of Sapphire and a display caseback to boot.

The brake in the Sapphire version is metal while the hesalite version is made of Delrin (plastic). The Sapphire version is also better decorated. That's why it costs  RM3,000 more.

Always thought the sapphire was too sterile.

There's a certain warmth to the hesalite, and the way it reflects light.

Plus there's always toothpaste if need be biggrin.gif

Maybe next 5 years...i would like to have a nice dress watch. In brown strap.

Whats your new goal?

You'd be surprised how good the Speedy looks in a brown strap. It's a very versatile watch wink.gif

Ok ive a confession to make.

Im starting to feel a little bit lazy to wind my speedmaster daily. The crown is a bit positioned too close to the crown guard and it sort of hurt the finger after winding for a whilem

i know i may have said i wanted another manual winding watch...but now im not so sure anymore.
*
You get used to winding it. I struggled when I first got my Speedy as well.

40 winds when first picking it up. 25-30 winds every morning after that if wearing as a daily. Takes less than 10 seconds.

Tada!!! My latest watch..Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. Hesalite & leather strap version. It looks much better in real life compared to pictures. Take note that the watch appear much smaller than 42mm spec when worn.
This is my 3rd chronograph. 3 different brands, heritage & stories to tell.
*
Good choice. Hesalite buddies thumbsup.gif

Agree that it doesn't feel as large as the 42mm spec suggests, especially when you wear it with a nato.

Every night I tell myself, "Tomorrow I'll wear that other watch."

Every morning I find myself rushing off for work and picking up whatever's on the table that's wound laugh.gif

I had a hard time capturing that on my old phone  cry.gif

I reckon it could be due to the profile of the crystal as well.

The SM300 has a more bulbous crystal, while the Speedy's one is flat.

Nice straps, very festive, I find Nato straps very comfortable and great to mix and match.

Thanks. Cannot afford to get new watches, so opted to give the existing watches a new look instead laugh.gif

Quick check:

Any idea where to get an aftermarket oyster style bracelet for Omega Seamaster Pro 212.30?

Can Planet Ocean bracelet fit it?

The sample bracelet looks like the one from the Speedy, which should fit your SMP - see the 2254 SMPs.

Not sure about other bracelets, but I don't expect it to be a good fit.

Couldnt make up my mind, whether ceramic with co-axial or aluminium without co-axial...

Go with the one with a wave dial thumbup.gif

Mine has dived with me on numerous occasions, and at the end of the dive, while we're all on the water surface waiting for the boat to pick us up, the way the wave dial catches and reflects the sun never fails to leave me in awe.

The scalloped bezel is a PITA to use though...

Hi guys need your opinion.I'm in dilemma between Tudor Black Bay 58 and Omega Seamaster as they both are about the same price. It's for my wedding 'hantaran'.Really loves both of them but the only downside of the BB is just it don't come with date. What do you guys think? Please help
*
Seamaster got quite a few different styles within the range - 300, Bond, PO, AT.
All looks different and wears differently. Best you try on your preferred variant in person before deciding.
This is speaking from personal experience - I really like the PO, but my wrists could never carry the look.

My friend was also comparing between the BB58 and PO - he ended up with the PO because he simply couldn't find a shop that stocks the BB58.

Anyone have experience which one is better for daily wear between Omega Seamaster & Speedmaster? Hmm
*
I suppose that depends on whether you'll bring your watch into the water with you, and whether you find winding your watch every morning a joy or a chore.

My Bond is my fuss-free piece. Grab it and go anywhere without having to think of potential 'hazards'.

I personally wouldn't daily the moonwatch. I like the sense of occasion in taking it out and giving it a good wind before the day starts.
If I had to do it everyday, it'll probably start to feel a little stale.

In saying that, I use the moonwatch lots for kitchen work.
Sometimes I just wind it up to use the chronograph without setting the time even.
