QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 16 2016, 12:45 PM) buying a watch and thinking of resell value, better dont buy anything. all watches lose value, its just the swiss constantly increase prices every yr or so which gives the impression that they hold value. but reality is as retail price increase, so too does the used prices.
anyway, that omega rm20k...quite expensive already due to currency. used to be rm18k retail. find the older one with 2500 movement in used market should be around rm10k...newer model probably rm14k used. well said, still the general public is blinded by absolute price

QUOTE(spoon2272 @ Nov 16 2016, 12:39 PM) Guy's im eyeing on this Omega Seamaster.I checked the price is around RM20K but i am wondering how is Omega resell value? Is it worth to buy or save it more for Rolex,IWC etc On top of what everdying had stated You have maintenance cost, as you watch get dinks up prices go down. Unless u at the range of 500k and up, even so can be hard finding stuff that really increase in value over time

Was strolling around UK and walked into a few watch shops and was pretty impressed with the design of a few Hublot watches. Any idea as to why isn't this brand famous in Malaysia ? Ive never bumped into anyone using this brand except our beloved PM 2 people in kopitiam have the big bang black magic, one of them i read dropped the watch and cracked the ceramic bezel, RM5k to change its expensive for a relatively young brand... someone i know have the big bang ceramic on rose gold... RM80k... AP ROO level already

I'm thinking of selling my swiss watch. Can you advice me where and how to sell in order to get a better price ?
I know of one shop in Subang that buys and sell used swiss watches. Do you think its best to go to them or find a buyer and deal direct.
Any advice is most appreciated.

You go through a middle man, you pay their fees. There are plenty of to sell watches online, why not use those?

Actually, don't have to buy watch and wait for the price to go up. You can do that with market sayur also; wait awhile the price also go up. Better buy that instead, since can buy in bulk.
I can never understand why anyone would want to buy a watch as an "investment". If you're looking for an interim watch as you're saving up for your Patek, and the end goal is in 10-15-20 years time, then yeah buy Rolex. If you're looking short term, like in the next 6 months to 1 year, just buy sayur la.

Surprised so many steel models are still available in the UK where you are. I've read that generally a shortage of SS models. Between the three, BLNR because why not? Although that Sub ND looks good too.

no surprises here especially after the price hike. A lot of models started to appear on the shop windows. The BLNR is second hand and ADs are still fulfilling back orders, been told it's a one year wait. I think I can wait it out....
Both the GMTII & the Sub is available now. I wasn't expecting it but I saw it at the AD yesterday. Price increase wasn't too much for the sub, kinda tempted. I bet it'll be gone by the time I've decided ha.,
