Anyone know why this is cheaper than U6-LR? Seems the Pro speed is double.
Also any problem if using US version in Malaysia?
The difference between U6-Pro and U6-LR is U6-LR using 4x4 MIMO for both 2.4ghz and 5Ghz band. While U6-Pro only use 4x4 MIMO for 5Ghz only. You can see the speed double, but the U6-LR is more pricey than U6-Pro. U6-Pro cost about $149 while U6-LR cost about $179.
The only problem for these U6 series is they only equipped with 1Gbps port, if you ask me how can they really achieve full throughput speed up to 5Gbps?

Ahh. Forget about 1Gps ethernet.. But still good choice compared to U6-LR since it's cheaper.

if multiple AP per site, then u cant mix US vs Asian AP. your site needs to have Country US, which is no issue.
I do have AC-LR currently in use. If set the country to US than can use both?

the country site is overall setting, either u set to US or other country only.. if the AP manage by single controller. unless each AP use other controller with different country or different AP manage on different "site" setting in a single controller. but then, whats the point, u unable manage everything within single interface.. but its workable..

A controller can manage multiple sites. so worse case scenario u create a site for each country. Copy the settings over. if your AC-LR can accept site = US, then u got one less issue. i wont worry too much about the 1Gbps port, even with U6-LR i have not had more than 300 mbps in real world scenarios. But the CPU utilization is lower compared to Lite. but if u have less than 50 clients then no diff. my advise is save your money and go for multiple U6-Lite.

Hi, anyone know if the USG (https://store.ui.com/products/unifi-security-gateway) is going to be obselete soon? I planned to get one but I am afraid they will come out with new product.

go for udm at least... its even better than USG,.. USG Pro is errr... ok better than USG.. but.. i think best is UDM at starting point. it has controller build in.
The PSU for my USG (the old square box 3P ver) just went kaput this morning.
Luckily one of my old Synology NAS has simialr PSU ie 12V 1.5A and I managed to get the USG back up n running.
Now looking for PSU replacement which should be this spec - 12V 2A (or min 1.5A as the Synology NAS is 1.5A and it seems to be working okay now) - 5.5 / 2.1 mm output jack (this is the one that's hard to match)
If anyone knows where I can get this PSU, pls reply here. I'm now trawling Shopee/Laz to see if I can find it. If I'm successful, will let you know here.
UPDATE: Okay, it's easy to find this PSU in Shopee. Many shops selling it with price ranging from RM5.80ish to RM10+.

Just saw this thread and was curious, anyone here has tested U6 Enterprise with the region hack to unlock 6GHz wifi in MY? Planning to get a U6 Enterprise from one of my supplier from work in Singapore and wanted to see if anyone has tried to use that frequency locally since it's still pending SIRIM approval iirc

Should easily work. Linus used this method to unlock 6ghz in Canada.
How much cheaper is it in Singapore? I’m waiting for September until my New York trip to buy them there.

Jesus is it really that slow? I’m looking to upgrade from my deco x90 for more functionality but even now I can get 700mbps+ basically anywhere in the house

Gotta ask my supplier if they carry any U6 Enterprise, the highest end I get them to quote is only U6 Pro, if they have it then I might snag it up with supplier pricing
