Revision on Hong Leong WISE Platinum and Gold Credit Card Terms and Conditions

user posted image

Questions and Answers

Q: What is the change made to the WISE Credit Card spend condition?
A: The minimum 10x swipes with RM50 spend condition will be replaced by minimum RM2,000 posted retail spend in a calendar month effective 1 Oct 2016. All other existing features and conditions remain unchanged.

Q: Why did Hong Leong Bank make the spend condition change?
A: HLB made the spend condition change to improve simplicity and convenience. The WISE Credit Card is one of the most competitive programmes locally and this change is vital to allow us to continue to offer this programme.

Q: Does it mean that, regardless the number of swipes/transactions I perform, as long as I meet minimum posted spend of RM2,000, I will enjoy 10% cash back on chosen categories?
A: Yes, you are right. Please see illustrations below for better a understanding:-

user posted image
Q: RM100 cash back over Total Spend of RM2,000 is up to 5% cash back, not 10%?
A: 10% cash back is calculated based on amount spent on your WISE chosen categories, not on Total Spend, for the month. It has always been WISE Credit Card product feature since it was launched. This feature remains unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016.

Q: With the 10% cash back, will I still enjoy up to RM100/month?
A: You will still enjoy up to RM100 cash back on your chosen categories. This feature remains unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016.

Q: What will happen to the categories I have chosen?
A: Your chosen categories remain unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016. You will continue to enjoy 10% cash back, up to RM100 if you meet the RM2,000 qualifying spend condition.

Q: My average spend per month on WISE Credit Card is RM1,000. How could I meet the minimum RM2,000 requirement?
A: WISE Credit Card gives out one of the highest cash backs. One way to meet the minimum RM2000 requirement is to consolidate all your purchases on your WISE credit card, for instance, pay for daily shopping, dining, groceries, insurance premiums, utility bills as well as enrol for auto-billing service.

Q: If I decided not to keep my WISE Credit Card, what option do I have?
A: If you find that the changed WISE Credit Card does not suit your needs, you are welcome to switch your WISE Credit Card to another credit card. No switching cost involved. Just give us a call at +603 7626 8899. We will be happy to assist you.

oic, no more 10 swipes but they didnt change the FAQ for the supplement card etc

Q: Is Supplementary Card' retail transactions accumulated into the total spend to meet requirement of 10 retail swipes per month and are those transactions eligible for 10% cash back also?

A: Yes, all posted retail transactions on supplementary card will be taken into account as per principal card. However, cash back earned will be credited into the principal Cardholder account only.

You must have at least RM2000 POSTED on or before 28/2, the rebate will be credited on 28/3 (check on 29/3).

For the merchants not using HLB's card machine, it will take 1-3 days for the transaction to be posted. So to be safe, complete the transactions by 26/2 (not 28/2, as transactions on 27/2 and 28/2 may be posted on 1/3).

If you choose utilities, then pay to your electricity account RM1,000, and RM1,001 on Bigpay or Boost, before 26/2, then you will get RM100 CB on 28/3.

I see, so it means for 1st apply, its better get the cc at early Mar instead of now. If so, normally how long does it take to approve for cc?? and Boost is under the utilities?

Bigpay / Boost - 0%

You just need to spend RM1,000 on your selected categories (10%), as the monthly CB is capped at RM100.

+another RM1000 on something else (including 0%/10% cashback)

Approved in Feb or Mar not important, No monthly fee. Not sure on card application processing time as I got my CC long time ago.

Yes, i mean the money spend on boost is included in the rm 2000 minimum spend? Oh, and I m not worrying about the monthly fee, just that if I get the cc at 20th feb, I dont have enough time to spend RM 2000 in like 6 days biggrin.gif

Bigpay/Boost is the tool for you to do final adjustment before month end closing.
Eg you can spend RM200 on Mobile + 2 selected categories, then dump RM1801 to Bigpay/Boost on 26/2 evening (stop using the card on 27/2 and 28/2), you will earn RM20 cashback for February.

You can use Boost e-wallet to pay Telekom, Astro and water bills, at Supermarkets, F&B outlets etc and earn Shake Reward, an indirect cashback incentive.

eg you don't get any CB for paying Telekom/Astro/water bills using HLB Wise, but you use HLB Wise to top up Boost wallet, then pay unifi, say RM100 then you will get a chance to shake and Boost will reward you RM3/RM5.

You may request transfer up to RM1498 in your Boost wallet to your bank account, max charge is RM2. (Premium account)
