I wanted more than waiver tongue.gif

I already have
Citibank cash back - for petrol and groceries
UOB YOLO - for online spending and dining/entertainment
OCBC Titanium - as backup, free Annual Fee no T&C

No use for this WiSE with its new T&C  shakehead.gif

Couldn't get RM2K retail spend a month.
*
should've canceled it ASAP to get back the paid-AF. they will prorate and credit back the remaining AF.

This is my 1st year of holding WiSE, so no AF paid yet. smile.gif

Problem is I still have an outstanding 0% instalment plan inside this card, if I call to cancel, they will make the whole balance be payable immediately?
*
u need to check the t&c/call cs whether you can do full settlement without penalty.

Your AF auto refund or you requested when you called to cancel?
*
most ppl forgotten that the AF waiver request was laxed last year when they revised the benefits. many took the advantage to cancel the card and refund the prorated AF balance. i never regreted cancelling Wise card, gotten the final RM100 cb and gotten prorated AF refunded.

i guess hlb has tighten back the AF waiver request policy back to original treatment: strictly no AF waiver.

Some of us WISE cardholders managed to get annual fee waiver for one year, last year.

If HLB reinstated the policy of no annual fee waiver this year, many of the remaining WISE cardholders, me included, will cancel the card.

Spend RM 1 to RM 1999.99: Gain no cashback.

Spend RM 2000.01 and above: Gain no more cashback, other than the original RM 100.00 (assuming that at least RM 1000 is spent in three eligible categories).

It is such a extremely narrow window of spending to gain RM 100 of cashback, which is RM 2000.00 of spending.
*
yep, there were 2 special AF waiver treatment offered biggrin.gif

1) directly prorate AF and refund the balance (card cancellation request only)
2) extend AF by 1 year

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Feb 12 2017, 08:14 AM)
HLB is living in their own world. It's true they maintain the RM100 cashback and also it's true it's the highest cb in the market but the spending power of many ppl are getting less so not many people can hit 2k every month. If they fail to acknowledge that and insist on charging the AF, then many will cancel the card again.
*
a very typical marketing spin, by maintaining RM100 cb story, their USP (unique selling point) for Wise is maintained, just that the qualifier bar is increase 1 fold (1K -> 2K) and the dreaded min rm50x10 is removed.

i'd rather having rm50x10 because this pesky item actually disciplined & micro-managed my spending wisely rclxms.gif

again, this feature benefited one group of users, but alienated another.

no card fits all type of users. just jump and use other cards instead. cool2.gif

Just called CS and straight reply NO WAIVER for the annual fee. May want to try HL Connect email in. Still not able to find a good credit card replacement for my spending pattern...Worst case still pay the Annual fee to keep!
*
Wise has a strict policy of no AF waiver.

it's better to maximize rm100 cb each month.

If pay thru maxispay, it doenst care what services you are paying, right? hlb wise only know the payment came from maxispay portal.

Finally, a black and white confirmation

QUOTE
We wish to inform that JomPAY/ government transactions like MYEQ and PAYBILLSMALAYSIA.COM (MCC 9399) no longer earn rebates eff 1 Aug 2016.

However, the amount considered to meet qualifying spend as the transaction does not earn rebate but will be considered as part of the RM2000 spending requirement eff 1 October 16.

QUOTE(abz @ Mar 2 2017, 03:39 PM)
I think u misunderstood me. My spending for Jan is 2.4k excluding the 500 balance from Dec. So, I should be qualified for the cashback since my spending is above the min requirement of 2k spending per month.

Just now they called me back and blaming my JOMPAY spending on that Jan. They said JOMPAY does not eligible for the computation of the 2k spending.

I thought someone in this thread got black and white from HLB saying that JOMPAY is eligible for the 2k spending right?

I'm still disputing this issue with HLB and will let you guys know.
*
yep, jompay is eligible spending.

so I need to have their username and PW in order to pay for them using credit card?

THanks.
*
yup, need login.

either ask them to login umobile app, then u key in the cc details for payment.

or

try this >> https://store.u.com.my/en/home/public-prepaid-top-up

u can "top-up" to postpaid line actually. it works for umobile.

As above.

Mytnb portal & app, kiosk, and uobpayonline are eligible.

Trying to register uobpayonline, but what should i fill for the bill number? I cannot find them on my bill, only can find account number.
*
Bill number = any number. Usually I just put 0.

Most important is the account number.

Revision on Hong Leong WISE Platinum and Gold Credit Card Terms and Conditions

user posted image

Questions and Answers

Q: What is the change made to the WISE Credit Card spend condition?
A: The minimum 10x swipes with RM50 spend condition will be replaced by minimum RM2,000 posted retail spend in a calendar month effective 1 Oct 2016. All other existing features and conditions remain unchanged.

Q: Why did Hong Leong Bank make the spend condition change?
A: HLB made the spend condition change to improve simplicity and convenience. The WISE Credit Card is one of the most competitive programmes locally and this change is vital to allow us to continue to offer this programme.

Q: Does it mean that, regardless the number of swipes/transactions I perform, as long as I meet minimum posted spend of RM2,000, I will enjoy 10% cash back on chosen categories?
A: Yes, you are right. Please see illustrations below for better a understanding:-

user posted image
Q: RM100 cash back over Total Spend of RM2,000 is up to 5% cash back, not 10%?
A: 10% cash back is calculated based on amount spent on your WISE chosen categories, not on Total Spend, for the month. It has always been WISE Credit Card product feature since it was launched. This feature remains unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016.

Q: With the 10% cash back, will I still enjoy up to RM100/month?
A: You will still enjoy up to RM100 cash back on your chosen categories. This feature remains unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016.

Q: What will happen to the categories I have chosen?
A: Your chosen categories remain unchanged effective 1 Oct 2016. You will continue to enjoy 10% cash back, up to RM100 if you meet the RM2,000 qualifying spend condition.

Q: My average spend per month on WISE Credit Card is RM1,000. How could I meet the minimum RM2,000 requirement?
A: WISE Credit Card gives out one of the highest cash backs. One way to meet the minimum RM2000 requirement is to consolidate all your purchases on your WISE credit card, for instance, pay for daily shopping, dining, groceries, insurance premiums, utility bills as well as enrol for auto-billing service.

Q: If I decided not to keep my WISE Credit Card, what option do I have?
A: If you find that the changed WISE Credit Card does not suit your needs, you are welcome to switch your WISE Credit Card to another credit card. No switching cost involved. Just give us a call at +603 7626 8899. We will be happy to assist you.

worth the trouble to track your spending religiously if RM1k spending with RM100 cashback gain.

RM2k spending with RM100 cb, meh, immediately terminated it after gotten final cashback.
