I would've chosen this colour in a heartbeat if it was available here in Malaysia. Rallye Red FTW!

Hi, A little update on my AC issue, i got my car back yesterday, Honda Malaysia has installed an updated compressor, and so far it's all positive results. I will continue my testing with it.

I am using AA quite extensively too, using note4 (snapdragon), works well, except that when i play my phone's mp3, it is quite soft.
*
Hey willie, thanks for the update. Is that all that they did? Change the compressor? Or is the compressor different from ours (updated design)

I got that too, but it's US and Canada manual, so it has very specific items that's unique to their environment... 80+ pages compared to our 400+ pages, so there is a lot of missing info in between...

Apkmirror is quite safe. It's 100% verified the same app as per Google Play Store - so if you don't trust Google (maker of AndroidAuto), you shouldn't even be using Android biggrin.gif

If security is your concern, change your Google account to other region like Australia then u can download from play store

I think it is because the android auto can read contact information.

Not yet.

bcw or anyone else on the Regal Valet group buy package. How is everything going? Is the promotion still on - and should I put it on the first page - third post?

I'm also thinking to put the RON95 & RON97 debate on the 3rd post as well. Put on cybermaster & wkc5657 inputs in it.

Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Aiya... Don't fuss about small nitty gritty things. As long as both fold in and extend properly, is fine already... Yes, mine also one is faster than the other, but as long as it takes 3-4 seconds to fold, it's perfectly fine. don't stress out every single thing - have fun with the car! Guys, does this help you? Just created a simple Excel file to calculate your loan balance + estimated car value. Can be used for any type of car - you can modify any values as well.

You just need to edit car value, your deposit & interest rate. The other cells are calculated automatically from those 3 values.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mj3lbba3uelc80r/C...%20V3.xlsx?dl=0

Updated file to lock unrelated cells
Updated further - Just update the data on Cell 1.

Just in case any of you missed the post at the Honda Civic X Malaysia FB Group, Wong KN went to the Honda Malaysia Hari Raya open house and had a chat with their product managers.

This is his update on the startup grinding sound:

OK, first posts about the startup noise on cold/warm start. I talked to both Civic product owner and head of marketing department (a quite technical guy) and both says they are unaware of this problem/issue (I trust both of them when they say they are unaware). Thing is they depend on feedback and data from dealers/service centers as 'official data' and so just random rantings or complaints on the net or social media will not do. But basically, both of them -are- eager to know more about this issue because they don't want it to turn into something big before it hits them. They are grateful to be made aware of this but both totally have no idea on what it is.
My suggestion (please understand I am -not- affiliated with Honda Malaysia in any way. I am just trying to help).
1. If you can replicate the problem, highlight it to your service center the next time you take your car for service. Reproduce it in front of the service advisor and ask them to take a look at it. Ask them to feedback if it is supposed to be 'normal' or 'something they need to look at'. At least this will get fed back to HM.
2. If you can reproduce the problem, someone, TAKE A VIDEO. Start the car with the noisy engine and take a video. Then take a video of a 'quiet' start (for comparison and reference). POST IT HERE. I will feed it back to HM (I have my ways). I -cannot- promise any concrete action but only that I will try my best to get this issue to their attention so they know about it. Whether you get any resolution depends on HM.
OK, back to you guys.

This is his update on maintenance:

Second post. This one is about the service interval A and B (oil change and standard service). Yes, it can be irritating and inconvenient if you have to send your Civic to oil change and service separately, esp if they are near apart. Officially, if your two service intervals are 1,500km or less apart, the service advisor -should- advise you that you can opt to do BOTH oil change and the service together at the same time. I.e. say the info advises that oil change is due at 8,800km mileage. Standard service mileage will be at 10,000km. That is only 1,200km apart. If you are a heavy user, this means you might well first go do oil change, then a couple of weeks later have to go back again to do the 10,000km service. But HM 'official' stance is you can/should do both. I.e. merge 8,800km oil change and 10,000km service together at 8,800km mileage. So you only have to go once.
But no, they still advise to pay more attention to the oil change. I.e. DON'T purposely delay the oil change (in the scenario above) to maybe 9,500km just because you don't want to do your 10,000km 'standard' service early. Follow the oil change as priority.

Update: I am sorry, there was an error in my post. The correct interval difference is 3,000km, not 1,500km. Meaning if your oil change flashes at 7,000km and later, you can elect to do the standard service of 10,000km together with the oil change. And similarly for later services, as long as they are within 3,000km mileage. Once again, advised never to delay the oil change just so you don't lose out in the standard service interval. HM advises that these are documented in the 'Quick Start' Guide that is shipped with your new car, pages 5 and 6.

I have slightly updated the FAQ on page 1 to reflect this information.

First pic, yeah I think somebody also had that issue where the assembly line did a poor job of welding the inside of the trunk lining. You can search in V1 thread iinm. Nothing you can do but bising to the SA unfortunately. At least you won't see it again since it's hidden.

The "missing" item is a funnel for the capless fuel filler, which some territories has. They need the funnel to pour oil in from non standard fuel pumps. Our civic does not feature the capless fuel filler, thus no need for that funnel.

I leather-ed up my Civic...why would that affect airbag OR void warranty?
1) airbags are not on the seats...
2) if it'll void warranty, why does Honda have panels to do seats?

btw, I spoke to 3 Honda salesperson already and all say it can be done with Honda panels or outside shops if you prefer. No problem there. The only issue was what color lining you want with the choice of leather color  biggrin.gif
*
Most Honda cars do not have airbags on the seats, but the new Honda Civic has them. As celciuz rightly mentioned, the airbags are on the Front (Passenger & Driver), Curtain (both front windows) & sides (both front seats). Panel to do seats are not appointed by Honda Malaysia, but the Honda SC. Yes, it might/might not void warranty, depending on who you ask, but if the installer does it improperly, the side airbag might not deploy, or worse, deploy but in the wrong direction which could fatally injure you.

In fact, page 11 of the Honda Body Repair PDF (available on 2nd post of the thread) says this:

SMARTVENT™ SIDE AIRBAGS
This vehicle is equipped with SmartVent side airbags:
• This airbag design helps mitigate the risk of excessive airbag deployment force and risk of injury to smaller seat occupants.
• It eliminates the need for the occupant position detection system (OPDS) sensor located in the front passenger’s seat-back.

As with all side airbags, the following service precautions apply:
• Special seat covers and/or breakaway thread are used to ensure the proper deployment path.
• Damaged front seat covers should be replaced, not repaired.
• Do not install non-factory seat covers; they may alter the airbag's intended deployment path.

So do what you will with the info which we have given you. It's your car & your life.

In any case, I have updated the 2nd post to include more educational/informational PDFs & videos for our members perusal. Do watch/read 'em if you have the time biggrin.gif Enjoy!
