How much is the damage?
*
USD99.90 - around RM400. Quite ok the price since it comes with GPS logger

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 15 2016, 02:33 PM)
just wondering if you can set an appointment to fix the rattling sound when the service is not due yet? is there a cost for labour?
*
Yes you can and AFAIK you won't be charged. Considered as warranty claim.

Greetings, proud owners of the new Civic!

Have a question for you guys driving the 1.5 Turbo, I noticed this on the FAQ on Page 1: -

What is the new Honda Civic's cruising speed engine RPM?
- At 110km/h, the engine speed is at 1,800rpm for both the 1.5TC and 1.8 engines
- At 90km/h, the engine speed is at 1,500rpm for both the 1.5TC and 1.8 engines

Can I confirm you guys are getting 1,800RPM @110km/h for the 1.5 Turbo?

Coz that's not what I got from driving the test car unit over the weekend - it was closer to 2,200RPM or thereabouts when I hit 110km/h.

Appreciate any input. Thanks.
*
1,800rpm - confirm. If there is an incline, it will of course be more. You also need to let off the accelerator too, I just need to press the accelerator very lightly to get to 1,800rpm.

yes... on flat roads and you have to be very gentle on the throttle for a sustained period with econ on.
*
Econ doesn't need to be on to get 110km/h at 1,800rpm smile.gif

-edit-

proof - my car - 1,800rpm for 112km/h with no econ attw

Ok, thanks for this, bro.

Just some background info, am currently driving a Peugeot 508 THP and am hitting 2,400RPM @ 110km/h. And it's like that no matter how gentle I drive, ha ha ha. Perhaps the 1.6 Turbo on the 508 isn't tuned that way, or maybe the car is just heavy. Anyways, 112km/h @ 1,800RPM is impressive!
*
It was the same in my previous FD2 bro. 110km/h at 2,400rpm.

QUOTE(Alternation @ Aug 15 2016, 04:26 PM)
110kph at 1800rpm
200kph at 3700rpm

u might have engaged S mode which kicks the rpm by a few hundred rpm.
*
200km/h confirm 3700rpm? i normally don't sustain at this speed long enough to confirm tongue.gif

I can confirm only 2 speeds, 90km/h & 110km/h.

90km/h 1,500rpm
110km/h 1,800rpm
150km/h 2,500rpm (need to confirm)

Hi guys,

My brother got his 1.5T few days ago.

Isit common to clock 330km for full tank?

And I don't think he floors the pedal gaogao all the time
*
First few tanks will have terrible mileage. It will get better as time goes on. I clock > 600KM per 47L tank for 100% city driving (JB) nowadays.

QUOTE(remo1502 @ Aug 15 2016, 05:00 PM)
Congrats to those got the new civic..

Seriously I am in dilemma to choose between pearl white and lunar silver....

I found lunar silver seem not attractive as pearl white do for this civic.. any comment?
*
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Just get whichever colour you want / like. If you like WOP better, then you got your answer.

QUOTE(Alex_T @ Aug 15 2016, 05:57 PM)
How do you guys route the power cable to the dashcam unit?
*
I just finished installing the dashcam. I route the cables along the nooks and crannies of the car, similar to the video below. The wires are well hidden until the footwells of the passenger - no place to hide it anymore, so i just use the provided cable management hooks to make sure it's hidden.

QUOTE(Alternation @ Aug 15 2016, 06:34 PM)
I tried sustaining 200kph and got about 3700rpm. But in cxc group, u can see 4000rpm because they max out throttle and the limiter cuts at 207kph. I reckon if u r daring enough to set cruise control at 207kph, it wont touch 4000rpm. Civic's powerband comes pretty early and astonishing. Allowing low fuel consumption and pulling power at low rpm.
*
Don't dare to set cruise control at that speed lol! But indeed the CVT helps the car to be more frugal.

QUOTE(knwong @ Aug 15 2016, 06:56 PM)
That's good mileage for 100% city driving. I think because you don't do a lot bumper to bumper crawl
*
Yeah, I normally get about 5 mins of bumper to bumper traffic - 10mins each way daily from home to office.

QUOTE(IamAHuman @ Aug 15 2016, 07:20 PM)
K. I just test drove the civic. Seems like the road noise is still quite high. It's quiet below 80kmh but it's quite noisy above it.

Test drove cerato last weekend and it seems that the road noise is better than civic?

K... I posted here surely you all will defend but I'm just posting my findings ya....
*
Nah, road noise is improved over previous Civics, but it's certainly not best in class.

I hid the extra length of cables behind the glove box. I think its the best place
*
I run the cables multiple times below the glove box. Need more cable clip to make it more secure. Do you know where to get more of those 3M Cable Clips blurjoey? Just updated the firmware to the latest 0805. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Anyway, the Civic Hatchback Sports and Sports Touring will have slightly more HP. 180HP/220Nm vs our 174HP/220Nm. This is due to the "high-flow centre exhaust system". UK Civics will only have the 1.5TC engines which is the same as ours.

Tried remote start from 50m away in open car park. It works.

How far away can this remote start works?
*
Honda Civic US manual says 40 yards ~ 37 Meters and up to 60 yards ~ 55 Meters unobstructed. YMMV

QUOTE(Jade Lieu @ Aug 17 2016, 08:46 AM)
I has installed it at Kulai, beside the public bank.
Thailand Brand, so far not experience that the pedal lock hit my knee/legs during a frontal collision.
*
Will check it out smile.gif Thanks!

QUOTE(hamrog @ Aug 17 2016, 11:33 AM)
Quick question: is it line of sight? (i.e. you can see your car while engaging remote start)

Because I tried that in my condo basement parking. I can't get it to work unless its line of sight - I can see my car. It won't work 20-30m away when there's cars blocking
*
I tried the remote start from my office desk. I must be around 25 meters away with cars, walls & windows between myself and the car - still able to startup fine. Only did this in the beginning though. Never used it the past month laugh.gif

Llumar ok for first 2 years.. then facing color fading and the IRR rate is not good. If you really want to go for security film and great IRR - Raytech is the only viable option. And i'm not sure why now LLumar websites did not put they film specifications out now....
*
My wife's Llumar is still going strong without any colour fading etc. Anyway, with 7 years warranty, can always go back and claim warranty if performance drops, so no issue there as well.

Llumar specs: Clicky & choose film catalogue.

Maybe it's an elevated position. Can you see your car from your office desk? This is because I cannot see my car (covered by other cars) from where I trigger the remote start - and it won't work - even though probably lesser distance.
*
Nope. Can't see my car from my desk. My office is on the 3rd floor and my desk is about 10 meters from the windows, so I am on an elevated position.

I have installed the red colour brake pedal, but need manual install/lock every time to lock.

Consider effect of frontal accident n hitting driver leg, that is why prefer this type
*
Can you take a pic of your lock? Or is this just like the AutoLock brake pedal lock? Mine is the Autolock, but somehow can't really lock it properly - it will drop down when I let it go.

QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Aug 18 2016, 08:27 AM)
guys, first service is 1000km or 1st month is it?

should I go back by time interval or wait the first 1000km?
*
1000KM or 1 month, whichever is earlier. No need to change engine oil, just normal checkup / tightening etc. Let them know if you have any issues for them to rectify.

Why the delay? Shouldn't take too long since you got the chassis number already.
