There were some sharing and discussion about the tips of taking care of turbo engine within my lunch buddy today.
The sharing is something as inside this link. http://www.motoringassist.com/motoring-adv...our-cars-turbo/ 1. When starting your car from cold, do not race the engine immediately from idle. Allow between 5-10 seconds for the engine oil to reach the turbocharger. 2. Never operate the engine under full power until the engine oil has warmed thoroughly. When the lubricant is cold, it remains thick and gloopy and cannot lubricate the turbocharger effectively, until warmed and thinned. 3. Old and tired oil cannot protect the turbocharger adequately. Therefore, do not extend the oil change interval beyond that recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. 4. Low-grade oil cannot protect the turbocharger adequately. Therefore, always use oil of not only the correct viscosity but also to the correct quality API specification (the details are noted within the vehicle handbook and also on the sides of canisters). 5. A turbocharger works its hardest during sustained high speeds. After a long motorway drive, it is possible that a turbocharger might be glowing orangey-red hot. Shutting the engine off immediately after a long run, such as when stopping at a motorway service station, might cause severe damage, because the internal turbine will not have slowed down sufficiently, plus the extreme heat generated may not been given sufficient opportunity to dissipate. Always allow the engine to idle for at least 30 seconds, prior to switching off the ignition. If your car is equipped with ‘stop-start’ technology, disable it in this instance, should it be switchable. 6. Never ‘blip’ the throttle, prior to switching off the ignition. This makes the turbocharger’s turbines accelerate but, when the ignition is cut, you starve the still-rotating turbine of lubricant. This can damage the bearings and increases the risk of premature failure substantially. What say you? |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Aug 18 2016, 05:26 PM) No that isn't the ABS. Have u never experienced the ABS system engaging? Then I suggest u take your car on a straight road at about 50kmph, make sure no cars behind, then slam the brakes hard. Well definitely my wheels are not lock when slammed hard on brake. Its important for every car driver to experience how the ABS system works and feels so that: 1) U know how it feels like (brake pedal) 2) U know how it sounds like 3) U don't get unduly worried by the sound 4) Ure confident and prepared for an emergency Don't forget. The ABS system does NOT always engage during hard braking. It only engages when the wheel sensors detect a tyre lock. And to enable the system to function efficiently, u must NEVER pump the brakes. In an emergency, u have to slam the brakes hard and keep your foot there until the vehicle has come to a stop. Wonder what the dashboard flashing is for then... |

Bro, I confirm it's not Emergency Stop Signal flashing like the one you showed in FB video linkClick to see it in action (FB Post) It's the green (sometime turn white) line strip that's blinking when I step hard |

It only makes sense if accelerator coz the strip is how "economical" is your driving style. Press hard on the accelerator, it will be white. Press lightly, it will be green. It's the green (sometime turn white) line strip that's blinking when I step hard If you step hard on the brakes, it will be the ESS flashing. |

Hard braking. No point arguing this since I don't intend to replicate this.
I just found in manual page 9, this strip is called ambient meter. Manual says it change colour in accordance to accelerator OR brake |

Manual says it change colour in accordance to accelerator OR brake Change color when u accelerate or brake is normal because your FC changes when u accelerate or brake. |

QUOTE(SackBoy @ Aug 19 2016, 10:11 AM) He meant the exhaust tip. But would really like to know what is the reason for honda to hide the exhaust. My thoughts..Save money la.. no need end tips or even the xtra bit of metal.. but it does boggle the mind since for the turbo, it ends with not one but 2 exos.. I mean we are talking - some even fabricate fake ones n some even go further to add a 'smoking' 2nd exos [from the single muffler - l know, l have done it before.. |
