last time 10-6-4-3-2-1 den they change to 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for so called more competitive, now wanna change to gv the winner more advantage again? doh.gif

FIA cant made up their mind it seems doh.gif i still like the 10-6-4-3-2-1 system n it proves great especially during mika vs schumacher era rclxms.gif

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Mar 12 2007, 06:56 PM)
With the new points system, 1st (winner of GP) and 2nd place will have no much difference.
Unless 1st compare to 3rd place and below.

which shows y alonso can easily won 2 championship relying 80% on luck of rivals car blow up shakehead.gif

prolly mourning the loss of alonso i guess yawn.gif

QUOTE(verx @ Mar 13 2007, 10:38 AM)
Some races are already boring because of the current points system. The fact that there were more exciting races back then when the points system was 10-6-4-3-2-1 proves that. It gives incentive for drivers to go for a race win instead of playing it safe.

Why should drivers that finish 9th and below be given points?? I think finishing 8th and getting points is already being very generous. This is a competitive sport not a free points candy store.

in that case, the teams finishing 9th and below have no incentive to continue, do they? unless there's a monetary benefit to actually finish a race rather than stop in the middle...

You can come out later than those who finish behind you for qualifying for the next GP.

If there is any driver who thinks there is more incentive to stop in the middle rather than finish a race then imo he doesn't deserve to drive an F1 car. It comes down to sportsmanship at the end. It's like saying a football team that is losing 5-0 should just leave the pitch since there is no incentive to continue playing. And btw sponsors do provide F1 teams with alot of money and they do expect something in return. Getting as much airtime as possible is never a bad thing. So there's the monetary incentive for u.

remember the Minardi team? they survived long and hard in F1, even tho they do not seem to have any chance to win. It's the appeal of racing in F1 that matters, not the money. same with the Wolf team of the late 70's and 80's, where they have no experience in racing, just a deep love for it.
Then again, F1 teams are paid at the end of the season according to points, thus even 1 point is important for the tail end teams. during the old scoring days, the tail end was much more furious than today as the solitary point was harder to acheive, ecspecially if the top 3 team manages to get all of their cars to finish.

Change back to tv2 ke? I prefer rtm honestly because the qualy/race is basically the itv feed but rtm always show it live and on time. Before that tv3 always show only at 10(with race starting only at 10:30) and last year 8tv even delay broadcast for some qualifying/races untill after their news finish.

I've been reading reports about Singapore talking with Bernie Ecclestone about hosting a race. You guys think if Sepang's contract to host F1 won't be renewed? If no more Sepang, sure no more broadcast. sad.gif

Gah, Singapore so kiasu, we have race, they also want. IF we lost Sepang, I will hate FIA. Yes, our race in 99 was because the PM want's the appeal of F1, but we did hard to get the race years before that. Hanifah yoong (aka Alex's dad) even invited some of the FIA superiors to check out Batu 3 in the early 90s. Even Senna come and tested the track, thus we know what we were doing.
Singapore meanwhile didn't have a long history of motorsport. Heck, they have to go to Pasir Gudang to race if they wanted to. And even if they have F1, i doubt teh singaporeans will ever be able to use that track, and Pasir Gudang will still be the cheaper and easier option for them.
