nah... you'll need at least 2 cables to it, power & hdmi, both connected to diff place
for me it's a big no no

if this thing sells well, I've no doubt soon there gonna be a mini SNES

this thing sure sell well i think just by selling nostalgic feeling good enough for the die hard fans to buy 10 if they dare to release limited edition to go along with the standard wan

As a reference for price, Steam Controller price is USD$50 but it is sold for RM400 by GamersHideout.

probably will end up at ~RM500 because Nintendo will prioritize US market 1st.

Extra controller will be RM70 if we look at Amiibo's prices.

Finding a long HDMI cable is an easy job thru online. Finding a local seller for the console, now that is a challenge. I think most of us here are considering buying it for ourselves rather than for the kids. It will be a collector's item. But my son loves to play Contra on android emulator (using 8Bitdo SNES30 bluetooth gamepad) but it doesn't have it on the NES Classic Mini . How can Nintendo left out Contra and went for Super C instead? And so many classic games not included in even though with today's tech, it should not be a problem. Hope Nintendo will make Famicom version of it with more games included.

Just pre-order from Amazon, they won't even charge your credit card now. You still have until November to change your mind. If you found a cheaper seller, you can always cancel your order.

Yeah, my son complains the Contra (not to mention Super C is even harder) is so hard to play with only 3 lives and 3 continues. So, he prefers Probotector which is a Contra clone with everything the same except for characters (robots instead of humans) and slower pace compared to the original Contra.

I never really like playing modern video games (except for some puzzle games on smartphone) and this NES Classic Edition is just so perfect for old school gamer. Hope Nintendo will make more of this and maybe for SNES as well.

I ordered mine from 11street's Game Hypermart, didn't get any request for extra cash

if you ordered from those online shopping sites like Lazada, or 11street, the seller aren't suppose to increase price after they put it up
if they asked you directly for extra cash, it's a direct violation of the T&C of sites, which will incur heavy penalty to them by those sites
likewise if they cancel your order from their side, also will get penalty, most they'll just contact you to pay more or ask you to cancel your order from your side, which is what they are doing now.

IMO, you shouldn't pay the extra amount, currency fluctuation is plain BS, few months ago the USD exchange rate is already pretty high. Tell them they should honor the published price, do that or you'll report this to the online shopping site they used.

I have e-mailed to lazada, let them deal direct with the seller. I am not going to deal direct with the seller. I think it is a hot item now and the seller is trying to get me to cancel my order so that can sell at a higher price. The seller is asking additional RM70. Thanks.

The seller just put up NES Classic Edition for sale again on Lazada @ the increased price. They are the only reseller for this console. Guess someone has cancelled their orders.

Same experience during the launch of New Nintendo 3DS XL with GH.. think paid RM850 during pre-order. Week before collection, GH asked for RM999 (or close to that figure) due to reasons (cannot remember if it was due to currency fluctuation or orders > available stock). Paid for it because it was a promised gift.

Unless it's from official stores like Nintendo Retail Store, which unfortunate we have nil in MY, the only official store that selling official consoles are Sony Centers
These are the stores that definitely will honor the pre-order price, unless there are T&C fine print stating the price are subject to change during pre-order.

Shops like GH should own up to their mistake of putting a lower price if there's no written T&C on the final price are subject to change.

I just received call from gamehypermart, i made my order from 11street for both nes classic and controller, they asked me to pay extra RM85. I just asked them email me the details first. I still don't know what to do. I think you will receive their call soon.

I think they will give you a call after the console in stock since they update the price to RM409 on their website.

And I just sent an e-mail to 11street regarding they are asking extra money for nes classic, now I'm waiting 11street reply.

means someone has reported to 11street, and they are investigating the issues now

Did received the same call from them, but I refused to budge, they are unlikely to issue a email for the details as well, as it can be used as a proof of them "soliciting" more money outside the platform which is a serious offence in the rulebook of 11street, If they just called, there's no proof
I think they are using the tactics of hoping some will pay up, and some will cancel the order, and in return they should be able to recoup back the losses from those cancelled order.

I think the blame on the price hike is actually more towards how the pricing was set for the console. What wasn't taken into account was the bulkiness of the console for the shipping. Usually when it comes to games, there's a fixed price and a fixed margin going around it. So most retailers know how it will be priced at.

I'm here just hoping Kastam didn't have to do anything shitty about it in the first place. (has happened but to other distributors lah before this)
