Ah just converted from Tomato to Vortex and port forwarding just worked immediately on setup. Cis.... Tomato got some bug it seems on that issue. A pity, was quite nice to use.

Just totally not forwarding. I have an SSH connection on a high-numbered (>25000) port, enabled port forwarding on the right port and to the internal IP of the host machine. Other machines on the LAN can access it fine (using internal IP) but can't access from WAN at all.

Based on searching, I did a full nvram wipe and tried again, but no joy. Single port forwarding, no port translation, still tak jadi. Spent almost 2 hours on it, gave up and downloaded asuswrt-merlin, got it working in 20 minutes (including setting up internet, wifi security, and the router's SSH).

Now for entware-ng and setting up my pseudo-NAS =)

Well, the ASUS is more familiar to me since I've worked on quite a few ASUS routers before. I like the AdvancedTomato UI, but the 'applying' and 'restarting' seemed quite unstable.

The Merlin firmware feels much more stable, as in when click 'apply' it will tell you how long, and it will actually take that long, not much shorter/longer.

As others have posted on this thread, the ASUS android app looks cool. But not very useful compared to actually just logging in to the interface of course.

Other than that, for me the Merlin is better because it settled my port forwarding immediately. Dunno whether I did anything wrong with Tomato, but when I checked the iptables settings for Tomato it seemed wrong. Unfortunately I've forgotten how iptables works since like... 6 years ago, and didn't want to waste even more time trying to figure it out.

Anyone experienced this on Xwrt-Vortex firmware? When we toggle the on/off button for Internet connection to like get another IP range, once it says completed it is stuck there until F5 (refresh) button is pressed.

On my PC, tried with Chrome and IE, both same issue. On my iPhone's Safari also same thing.

Even tried to reset the router but still same thing. Not sure why.

Need more people to try it, not sure if it's just me or there's a bug in the interface when this is done.

Here's a video to recreate it:

The message 'complete' remains until the F5 key is pressed to refresh.

Tried, work on Chrome, IE, Firefox & Opera. Also work on my phone & tablet. Chould be you are using some internet security software or addon that interfere with the redirection.

Time doesn't require special VLAN tagging like UniFi & Maxis Fibre, so it will definitely work

I changed mine to 100% about 2 hours ago and didn't notice any change in signal strength or temperature.

Perhaps it actually does nothing.  laugh.gif

Previously before when you were on the stock firmware you could get signal across the road (66 feet) in front of your house.

How about after flashing to Asuswrt firmware?

Yup. Still maintaining the same signal strength (-78 dBm) across the road. smile.gif

I am a bit concerned about the rather high temperature of the CPU (82 C) when the room air-conditioner is switched off.

When switched on, it drops to 72 C.

The router has been rock solid so far.

Should I be worried?

Both the same. As if 50% = 100% laugh.gif

On 2.4GHz only. 5GHz cannot reach that far.
