If you're going to use it only for internet, then it'll work
If you're going to use it with Astro IPTV, it won't work (for now)

just went just now and bought one, left 52 units

actually real ASUS routers also same condition no matter 50% or 100%, i guess it's power tx is firmware locked even though the option is there. it does have minor effect during firmware revision 330.xx and earlier

Yours is UHP. This one is only using internal antenna. It would be faster, because it has 3T3R compared to yours 2T2R. If you are having coverage problem, then buy this to use a main router and use your Asus router in the center of the house as WiFi repeater. This way you would get good coverage.

I also used 2x RT-14UHP lastime to cover whole two storey but it seem like the main router was not able to handle the heavy wifi. Always lag. After I replaced the main router with huawei, the problem is now gone. I have been trying to solve this problem for 2 years by adding more repeater but it seem like my main problem was bandwidth and router cpu speed, not coverage.

Definitely more than this number when I went there just now to pick up a second unit. But compared to yesterday, I would say plenty was sold in quick succession. The network rack units were untouched but the 3 stacks on WS880 at the other exit already become single stack today. Either they didnt moved out as much today or they already sold 2 stack in the last 24 hours.

The easiest way to get into the emergency upgrade page is to set static IP in your computer before you connect the router to your computer

IP Address: 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

I've flashed 4 units of WS880 this way without a hickup

After uploading the modified WS880_Trans.Bin file, let the router reboot itself, do not do anything until you see a different page displayed on your internet browser

Once you are on the CFE miniWeb Server page, upload the firmware of your choice. In this instance, the first few uploads may fail. Just retry uploading using several browser until you arrive at a different page saying the upload succeeeded

While doing all this, DO NOT turn off your router at all

my experience with UHP series has not been positive so far. implemented around 10 units for the past 2 years (12UHP/14UHP) and 6 units decommissioned due to wifi connection does not receive any data transmission after sometime (SSID connected with full bar). pretty sure is hardware defect, RMA'ed 2 units and still displayed similar issues after few months. firmware flashed with new and old version, also tried tomato with no fix at all.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I guess I will go as per your recommendation to make the Huawei as the main router and make the 55UHP as repeater. With this I can have full coverage for my house.

Depends. I had 14UHP in my house and it work just fine. I didnt had any repeater connected to it. I only ran into problem in my parents house when I had two of them with one as main and the other as repeater. You do have to restart them after every few days. Not sure if Maxis was capping me or what. If I didnt restart, my torrent would stuck at 200kB/s versus 1MB/s after restart.

I told my boss I'm in dilemma to go to LYP or not after work because I'm just too lazy. He asked why and I told him about this router cheap price. He asked if I still have any tasks to do, I said I'm basically done for the day. He asked me to leave office and go to LYP.

Anyway, my friend is there and already helped me to buy. He told me there are still plenty, one whole full rack.

I also there today. One shelf only... plus another stack at the counter. Yesterday 2 shelves. Really whole rack?

So, still got chance one la. Just that I don't need to purposely travel from KL Sentral to LYP, got people help me to buy and send to me later.

this is 1st time i heard about flash router to 3rd party software. what is the precaution must take so that it won't brick?

First rule, just make sure it will not suddenly power off when you do it. I had flashed few times during TP Link days.
