I am a bit concerned about the rather high temperature of the CPU (82 C) when the room air-conditioner is switched off.

When switched on, it drops to 72 C.

The router has been rock solid so far.

Should I be worried?
wah yours can reach 82 C!!!

Mine is between 68 C to 72 C

72 C is when downloading torrents at max speed.

Tried, work on Chrome, IE, Firefox & Opera. Also work on my phone & tablet. Chould be you are using some internet security software or addon that interfere with the redirection.

I tried it on Microsoft Edge and got the same results as you.

Nope, I don't have any security software. Not sure why some people have this issue and some people don't. sweat.gif

Same here, have to keep trying non-stop, I think I tried for like 30 minutes before successfully upload 100% of the firmware file.

I already flashed two units (one more gonna keep as stock for now), no such problem. 2nd one was flashed using wifi even, lazy to pull lan cable over.

Recently upgraded to 100Mbps and DLink DIR-850L modem.

Even standing next to it, I get Wifi Connection of D/L 75Mbps and U/L of 40Mbps.

Ethernet via a switch give me D/L 40Mbps and U/L of 80Mbps.

Will this router improve the speed above?

My advice to anyone flashing the firmware is .... never switch off the router during the flashing process even if you see no response or if you think it has hanged during the process.

Just don't switch it off and on or press the power button in front.

Standard rule for all flashing. I think not easy to hard-brick this though, can always re-do the reset.

No, we don't have the original firmware available. You can ask huawei for it, I guess...

Oh my bad, I meant wifi flash for converting Tomato to Asuswrt-merlin (xwrt Vortex). Not initial flash from stock.

More or less. Just different words
Remember, do no turn off the router even if you see it not responding. Just wait

The Huawei button is a power switch? I did not know that
Will try & push that button when I got back home today

Nahh. With AsusWRT firmware the Tx is already at 100% even if you see the slider at 50%
No difference. Maybe the slider only affects real ASUS routers
