One more thing you can try.

Go to Wireless --> Professional.

Under Tx power adjustment, drag the slider from default 'Balance' to "Performance' and see if it helps.

Thanks. Just done as per your advice. thumbup.gif

Will this router go on idle mode when not using it? unsure.gif

You mean the router goes into power-saving mode and shutdown WIFI transmission/reception?

From my experience, no.

My router is powered on 24/7 unless there is a power trip.

And I don't experience any WIFI dropouts at all for all my devices.  smile.gif
*
Yes. I just want to find out the possibility for my issue. Mine also 24/7 and so far other devices are OK.
I'm not sure if it is because of my old card - Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030 since it is only single band. hmm.gif I have been using this laptop for 5 years and no such issue until I changed to this router. sad.gif

Let's see whether the latest firmware or the WIFI transmission power tweak solves your connection problem.  smile.gif

Yeah, will monitor further. biggrin.gif
Thanks for your help so far!

Instead of letting the router go, why not just change the WiFi card?
You can find lots of replacement WiFi card in eBay. Cheap too

PS: eBay international, not eBay Malaysia
*
Well, will that definitely help? laugh.gif
I will monitor in the mean time first.

Today got new TM router dlink 850..
Not bad for free router..  Still manage 28mbps download
Good coverage compare to Asus n56
WS880 sligly better on speed consistency

* TM Techician said 30mbps already max on their system
User only can get 28mbps max
*
That means your area also capped already. Mine capped since months ago. Many too face the same problem. My friend still gets 32Mbps on her stock silver router, she is in Cheras. smile.gif

Hmm.. Kalau VDSL normal lah because copper will deteriorate after a few years, speed pun akan turun
But if on FTTH pun macam tu, maybe it's true what fruitie said that TM is gradually limiting all UniFi 30Mb/s users by areas to a maximum of 30Mb/s dry.gif
*
It is... sad.gif Just matter of time when all will be affected. doh.gif mad.gif

So, it is not the router issue, I already have this issue before I changed to this router... sad.gif TM technician came and said it is more than normal, since above 24Mbps. He said I was just lucky to have more than 30Mbps earlier, so can't argue much unless it is below 24Mbps.

My laptop seems to be working well with this router. Weeks of occasionally monitoring but I don't see any sudden inactivity of Internet anymore. thumbup.gif Not sure if it is the latest network driver or Tx power adjustment in the wireless settings helps, or both. laugh.gif

Oh oh. I spoke too soon. The inactivity just happened but at least it will show a yellow exclamation sign and with disconnected wording. Earlier, no sign and nothing but just no data packet... hmm.gif

What did you do to make your laptop's wireless work again?

Reboot the laptop only?

Reboot the router only?

Reboot both?
*
Nothing. Just refresh my web page after few seconds and it's back again.

Well, it will be irritating if I attend my conference call at home using my own laptop. It may be disconnected halfway.
