man .. seeing u guys having OC upto 4ghz+ makes me wanna go buy new mobo .. currently only using an el-cheapo mobo asrock 775dual-vsta (previously was using an agp card+ddr1 , now moved to 8500ge already) .. my humble rig : e4300 @ 2.56ghz 285x9 (mobo can only go max 285, if not i would have OC to 3.2ghz if possible, LOL!) 1gb kvr ddr2 667 so, which 775 mobo is cheap but still good at OC ? is there any in the range of rm250 ah? seems like all good mobos in the 400-600 price range already ...haih hehe This post has been edited by mmohdnor: Jun 30 2007, 11:13 AM

Hi guys, First time I be here. I got problem overclock w my e63 n biostar 965 deluxe. At first, i set the fsb 300 , cpu multi 7, ram divider is 533 [FSB x2]. It works flawlessly with that setting. But once i set the fsb to 330, the pc cannot boot. So anyone know any reason causing this?? Thanks Details as below: PROC e6300 MOBO Biostar 965 Deluxe RAM Corsair CVS 667Mhz GC Galaxy 73GT PSU Acbel 450w True -pWs-

Hello, I'm planning to get a C2D E6420 (2.13ghz) and will be getting the Corsair PC6400C4 rams XMS2 2x1GB rams (rated 4-4-4-12).
First timer going to try overclocking, not extreme overclocking just maybe want to get it to run at 400 fsb (3200).
My question is, which mobo should I get ? Choosing between the Asus P5NE-SLI 650i and the Gigabyte-965P-DS3 which are roughly the same price, or would it be worth paying about a 100 dollars more to get the Asus P5B-E ?
Also, I'm not planning to run SLI so the SLI feature does not matter to me.
My budget is just roughly 400-550, but would prefer to get something below 500 if it does not make a HUGE differance.
Hoping some forumers can help me out with some advice, or maybe even give suggestions if there are better boards to get for that price range..
Thanks in advance

I think able to reach 2.8Ghz with stock vCore, or u can try increase it a bit to trial error. Do it saperately for vCore, vMCH, vFSB to troubleshoot BIOS use the latest one, becoz the original BIOS is not good for o'c. Just incase u r using the original one.

My advise, as an ex-user of C2D e6420 processor, do not get that processor. That processor is a pure sucker in overclocking. Another thing, since you're getting this rig for overclocking purpose, mind telling me why you're talking that Corsair XMS2? That's the weakest ram and it sucks like crazy in overclocking.
