QUOTE(pierreye @ Nov 13 2006, 01:59 PM) Memory timing is not so important in C2D. Most between 2 extreme timing is around 5%. Also, I don't see much gain after 3Ghz and above. Most likely our Graphic card can't keep up with the procs. that's what i heard as well...that's why for c2d, i'd go for ram with higher fsb, to hit 1:1 with the proc...and yes, for synt benchmarking, might have some improvement with tighter timing especially for SPI...so, my choice of ram: big fat ram (capacity) and high fsb (even thou i'm waiting for the Crucial 10th Anni...not becoz of the timing but the fsb ) This post has been edited by remysix: Nov 13 2006, 02:40 PM

shud i ask or shud i not...ask away je la... just got the 10th Anni ram...and run the memtest...my rig=sig. run the proc wif x6 multiplier, and ram at x2, push the fsb to 495...so the ram shud be 495 x 2 = 990@44412 and proc is 495 x 6 = 2970...fine boot up ok...masuk memtest...running the test #5...then i noticed the Proc was reported as 3465 which is 495 x 7 ??? i wonder is it just memtest misreported my C2D clock or what? and btw, i think some results will be reported shortly...

all the sudden people are pushing down the vcore instead of pushing the clock higher... ... just tried mine last nite...now running orthos for 22hrs at 458x7 wif 1.325 vcore...will stop at 24hrs... my e6300 history at 3.2G: 1.375 --> 1.350 --> 1.331 --> 1.325 burning-in does help!

QUOTE(yehlai @ Dec 7 2006, 10:46 PM) You mean using TAT load 100% to test?? Will tht help to burn-in a lot? as long as u could get ur proc to work on 100% load, then ok la...i used orthos...another 22 minutes, will complete 24hrs testing/burning... burn and burn baby...just dont let it crash...hehehe...

QUOTE(deric88 @ Dec 13 2006, 12:49 AM) is there any harm raising 0.1 for ddr, pcie, fsb and 0.3 for mch? YES!!! you might get addicted to pushing ur system even faster and faster! very dangerous for your pocket one... most of the guys used higher than that bro...so far, no harm but whatever it is always follows the rule of thumb of ocing...cooling, cooling and cooling

QUOTE(teohwk @ Dec 18 2006, 01:31 PM) Zalman CNPS9500LED. Researched on the web. some say watercooling does nothing to increase CPU Ghz other than cooling the CPU. Any opinions here? If you cannot hit 4G on air due to the temp, prolly WC will help but if you have a good temp on air...it really means the proc has hit the wall...so any further cooling MIGHT not help... QUOTE(irenic @ Dec 20 2006, 04:50 PM) LOL.. issit so hard to understand? he said that he thought intel board cant oc, is locked.. then the other guy asked him if cant oc why he can oc till 3ghz.. so i said to the 2nd guy that the 1st guy mentioned bout INTEL board with intel chipset, not gigabyte board with intel chipset.. i even mentioned before that this new xbx called xbx2 is a good overclocking board. hehehe...a good laugh for today but no harm done... hope to see a new record...so far still almost similar results...just new boards... for guys like myself who will be sticking to the same setup for at least another 6 months, no change la from oc point of view...

long time didnt drop by in this thread... saw u guys really play high on the temp...i don dare to go beyond 1.37v for 24/7...but then maybe i could give it a try... currently orthosing at 3.3g wif 1.35v...have running my proc at 3.2g wif 1.325v for quite sometime...already passed 2hrs of orthos blend test...hope everything is ok...i'll stop at >12hrs...then push the vcore down another notch and try again...have been doing it for the past 3 days...step by step but it pays...wish me luck

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Apr 27 2007, 08:38 AM) time to pump more vcore?? nope...that one was for 3.3g...already stable wif 1.3625v...just trying my luck if i could run it at lower vcore than that... 3.4g might be a big leap in terms of the vcore...might need at least 1.45v and i will surely will not do 24/7 wif that voltage... waiting for my e66 now...and will see if the e66 can perform better than my sweet e63

QUOTE(yehlai @ Apr 27 2007, 01:02 PM) 1.36v can run 3.3GHz stable is very nice alrdy. Most E6600 can reach 3.6GHz i think. But Dark said also depends on batch.. For me i think batch no. is not so important, since ppl can still find some/many overclockable proc in every different batch. Hope u can get a nice one like coolice la. i know that 3.3g@1.36 is nice already...just trying to push it further...mmm...if my e66 is better, then will let go this e63 btw, coolice's is which batch/week?
