2. Budget : Around 200k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used or New
6. NA or FI : Either one or EV
7. Type : Sedan, Hatch, Crossover
8. Remarks : Got a permanent work from home role, sold my car and was thinking of upgrading my wife's/family car (honda jazz). Her daily commute is only 23km a day, Petrol/Electric is fine
*
The thing about having 200K budget (used car even) to travel 23km daily is mostly about bragging rights rather than actual transportation requirements.

Reminds me of my rich relatives asking why I'm driving an Axia manual previously as they park their continental brands in their garage to be used few times a month.

If indeed this is your aim, then get anything close to 200K preferbly the latest technology such as EV but do consider their maintenance and running efforts such as charging.

Yeah that's why i was thinking if i proceed with the used car option, it would just be a mazda cx-30, significantly cheaper. Tesla is more or less just for self-interest in the latest tech, but I agree it'shard to justify paying 200k for a car that's travelling 23km a day

Happy wife happy life.

Since you're buying for her, let her decide?

HONDA CIVIC FB HYBRID 2012
Battery and inverter &Aircond Compressor replaced..

seem like i shouldn't consider hybrid car, if worried about maintenance or less daily mileage (~20km)

currently driving wira, cant really go far(cross state), not comfortable & easy to get overheat
*
What happened to your consideration
Kia Forte
Nissan Sylphy
Renault Fluence
VW Polo Sedan..

If worried about maintenance, you shouldn't get all these COLD cars not to mention hybrids.

Sorry need to raise your budget if avoid local cars for your desired comfort level to travel back Penang.

hot car would be something like myvi, axia, saga, bezza, city, vios? Forte/Sylphy/Fluence, maintenance will be high? if 1.5x times higher than local car, i think im stilll okay, since the 2nd buying price is low already
*
Talk to your regular mechanic. See which model he familiar & comfortable handling. Else say Forte, need to find Kia specialist and chit chat first for estimates on common issues

If you're emphasis on comfort, can forget about P2 which main attraction is low fuel consumption. Saga, Persona are more comfortable, lower used value with parts easily sourced and any mechanic can service.

2. Budget : around 20K (used) to 50K (New)
4. Specs : ABS, EBD, Airbag
5. Transmission : Manual
7. Type : Prefer sedan
8. Remarks :
sedan for extra boot space.
*
There are only 3 new manual cars below 250K
(exclude trucks & vans)

Axia E (no abs ebd & not sedan)
Bezza 1.0 (handling really crap)
Saga Std 35K <--

Used cars are a good choice if you know or can get experts to screen them thoroughly.

Thank you for your reply, now I am juggling about getting used manual saga flx or completely new saga for worry free warranty. Getting used saga allow me to drive the car without worry about wrecking it while new saga got worry free warranty. For getting used car, are mudah certified and carousell legit platform to buy used car?
*
All the used cars I bought are direct from owners with clear service records and I drive to my trusted mechanic friend to list down the parts I need to change.

Sorry no experience buying from used car dealers listed in mudah, carsome etc.

If you're not sure of your driving skills, perhaps automatic/ cvt is easier than manual which requires slightly more effort especially in traffic jams

1. Brand : Kenari or equivalent
2. Budget : <20K used
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
5. Transmission : auto
7. Type : 4 or 5 seater. Space for wheelchair

8. Remarks : Looking for a high raised car. Easy in and out for elderlies. No need to bend over entering.
*
Need vehicle seats with a higher hip point eg
https://www.mudah.my/2018+Haval+H1+1+5+COMF...i-105345277.htm
https://www.mudah.my/+2016+Loan+Kedai+Proto...+-103020675.htm

Can take a seat in these models see if they are comfortable to get in and out. Kenari is a bit old with 2008, 2009 models going around 10K

Thank you for the suggestion. I wouldn't ever imagine Haval to be available in that price too. Wonder if there's any major surprise.
*
No longer in production here will bring parts, support issues
But it uses the legendary saga wira satria 4G15 Mitsu engine i think.

Apart from avoiding the usual accident, flood, user abuse units

Haval got to ask zenix

my in laws, keep complaining about current car honda city, very low and say want to change car to SUV

Then I noticed that my mother's axia seems to be very friendly in terms of height. I also notice alza seems higher than a sedan like city.
*
QUOTE
The key is height.
Open the door and reverse your tush to the chair.
If you can reverse in and chair is tush height then easy for old farts coz no need to bend, they also have no knee strength after bending
*
As what Zenix said, its the Hip point (H point) from the ground.

It depends on the perceived market demographics the manufacture is aiming for that model. Honda leans towards the younger crowd for its bread and butter models hence leaning towards this seat configuration LOL

Need to bring your uncle to test drive and get his opinion.
How about starting with this model and list down the pros & cons after test drive?

looking SUV 5+2 seat (range up to 200k)
here are my list:
-VW Tiguan Allspace Elegance 1.4
-CX8

I get alot of mix review on VW Tiguan but how /k opinion?

i had my 2007 toyota vios (2nd hand) used for almost 7years, no issue as long as take care properly. (not sure how other brand)
*
If you're used to toyota reliability, might be shocked with VW.. Summore pre-owned doh.gif just saying. Some avoid Nissan Serena for the same reason.

The CX-8 is a bigger car. 2.5NA almost 5M in length ard 1.8ton. Similar to the newly launched 1.5T hybrid X90 much cheaper roadtax. At this price range I would test drive the Innova Zenix

By the way, the B-segment 7 seaters don't interest you?
Veloz, Xpander..

Budget 100-110k.
planning to change  to a hybrid (not EV
Not sure if I want to take the City Hatchback or wait for Yaris Cross

usually drive on the weekends and long distance driving
*
Yup,
Cheapest hybrid is City now ard 110K.
Next range ard 140K brings HR-V & Corolla Cross.
If not urgent can consider incoming Yaris Cross.

Do note that hybrids don't bring as much benefits in steady or highway constant speeds. Their main advantage is in start stop traffic.

Limited budget, it's suicidal to go for used conti.
If can remove bias against local models,
