Teana is also expensive in Jb area. How about Sylphy? Good? Which year you will suggest? Is this a C segment or D segment car?
*
nissan sylphy is a c segment car. you should get 2012-2013.(http://www.mudah.my/2013+Nissan+Sylphy+2+0+A+Navi+R+CAMERA+F+SPec-46929793.htm).
who has driven vios mt for more than 5 years? i have ride on vios mt before for more than 10 times and still a lot of people in brunei and malaysia say it is a good car due to it's reliability and resale value.the ride was/is not bad and it is/was quite good and handling is and was also not bad.And it was quite good too but it is boring for me to ride on vios again and again bangwall.gif .HMM which car is better for me to drive? biggrin.gif

my 2 sen.... u have to decide if you want a c or d segment car in the 1st place... that is step one

just a note,
the teana would cost you alittle more (i hear its fluids are more exp), but its not a major draw back, just a small amount
also... if you do go for a sylphy, go for the later batches, you can add an aftermarket oil cooler on the earlier models but for the sake of peace of mind, might be worth considering the later batches
i guess his issue in the 1st place is that he is in johor....
*also, long as the car is in decent cond, you wont really need the warranty. Really your call, but one reason the 'T' brand sells here is cause its reliable. adding warranty on top of that is abit overkill. I would personally just buy it cheaper and save the excess for maintenance, but thats just me.

you.... you.. you have asked MULTIPLE times already and have also made up your mind multiple times already~ just stop it..... pls... just pls....

ok i will still go for iriz at the moment

speaking about potong in general, that is pretty much a myth nowadays... not something that happens often with the newer cars.... qc is still in my opinion bad (at least as far as the plastic quality, switches feel, that kind of stuff).... mechanically, most of these cars are alright. The engines are decent, no real major issues.
-proton did have an issue with the cfe's and that was solved later on.
-certain models did have some design flaws. Cars like the persona/neo's leaking slightly via the doors cards

now about the iris in particular. It does have a slightly different engine with vvt, only been around for about 2 years, its not so new that you are some sort of lab rat but am not sure if you can consider that 'proven'. As of right now, no major issues. No idea how the car will hold up 10-20 years in the future but should be alright i guess. you can go look around in the iriz section and ask there for more info.
*IMO its good to ask a car club about the car you want to understand in more detail BUT its a bad idea to ask 'it it worth it' or 'if you should buy one' cause lets face it, there will be some form of bias-ness
*
what you say is true about proton.

major problem, like power windows stopped working, been told Proton QC very bad last time ...

(http://XXXXX.org/2014/10/21/gallery-proton-iriz-vs-perodua-myvi-take-pick/)(paultan)(http://www.carlist.my/news/2015-perodua-myvi-vs-proton-iriz-round-2-fight/3718)
it does still have rattling issue. But power window problem happened mostly in the past but now it happened infrequently.(http://car.astroawani.com/detail/giant-test-proton-iriz-vs-perodua-myvi-vs-kia-picanto-100596)(https://motoring-malaysia.blogspot.com/2014/09/short-test-drive-proton-iriz-13mt.html).well i have to agree that cvt is worst of all but engine wise, i can never agree that myvi is sweeter than Iriz because you have to trust the real expertise (https://www.carsome.my/news/item/Head-to-Head-Proton-Iriz-VS-Perodua-Myvi?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork).Although the Iriz edges the Myvi in engine power output and fuel efficiency and others, most drivers would be turned off by a poor performance in the gearbox department(CVT). For this, the Myvi 1.3 Standard earns a win in this category unless you want manual gearbox wise.
If manual gearbox wise.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd2Sn4raDqY)
Iriz beat picanto and myvi and axia as paul tan has said if you want a car that is fun to drive as it is to be driven in,cabin is really nice to be in and it is very comfortable.
If you want build quality and top safety features and better engine than axia and myvi and better cvt,get picanto.
If you want a better fc, Axia
If you want it to be spacious,Get Myvi.
For me i do care about better build quality, fun to drive, handling,Suspension, safety features, gearbox, ride and comfortable seats so i pick iriz 1.6 exec manual over myvi and picanto.

good morning..

I am looking at a used 9th Gen Honda Civic 1.8. Yeah, I know the new Civic is nice, but I have no plan to spend >100k for car now, so I am looking at the 9th Gen Honda Civic instead.

I asked a few owners (My friends), so far so major issues, no problems also. Anyone can provide more insight, like service and common issue (if any)

54k is for pre-facelift. post-facelift is around 65k. actually 2 cars are in my mind. caldina gt4 and mazda 6. i know its diff segment.. just that i am more inclined to these two cars.
*
then if you incline to these two cars, then i have no choice but to accept your decision and get the car that you want because i am not really good at choosing cars but i still incline mazda over caldina gt4.

@zenix and @lsm1991, please serve him because i do not really know much about basic preve and turbo preve. All i know is preve turbo is running cfe and it is a turbocharged car.And i heard that cfe engine is the greatest engine in proton according to most of the malaysian including @lsm1991 and @zenix.

from what i heard basic preve is too underpowered as for that fc is higher, but we can still say the same with turbo preve as its turbo charge is it not?
*
i dont know much about it. You have to ask lsm1991 and zenix because i do not know based on customer feedback which is the best engine in proton.

well..... proton has never been great in the engines or in the quality department......... the non-turbo model is underpowered (my opinion), the turbo model is alrite i guess(if you are not a speed freak, its good enough).  Fc for the campro aint great from what i hear, the turbo models get better mileage in town AND long distance(again proton isnt gona win any awards in the engine department frugality or performance wise). Built quality and the materials in the interior aint great, cheap plastics like pretty much the other protons and after a few years they tend to rattle and creak (solvable if you put in the effort)

imo they are pretty good where the chassis is concerned, handling and safety is actually very good for for a car in that segment's pricerange. These 2 aspects are where the preve pulls ahead of its competitors
*
But i heard that expertise from carsome said that the engine of proton iriz which is the campro vvt is the best engine in proton right now. But till now,you still say cfe is better and more refine and realiable than vvt .I do not care about iafm and cps and iafm+since you say they are underpowered engine.

what are you on about this time.... bangwall.gif

pls show me where in the world did i mention that it is better, more refined, or even more reliable than vvt......... pls find where i ever mentioned that....

*heck i would never in the right state of mind ever label a proton designed engine 'refined'*
now i will mention this tho..... whichever 'expert' claimed that the vvt in the proton engines is great is probably high on some stuff.....
this technology has been commonly used for the past 15-20 years.... if that's the best proton can do, i ant got high hopes for their engines sweat.gif
random examples: bmw's had vanos longlonglonglong ago, the toyota celica had it PLUS lift technology......
even the cps seem like a joke compared to the much older dinosaur vtecs, mivecs and vvtli..... (power wise)
ahh: you edited the expert to carsome huh~~ sure... give any random guy an expert title experts and they are experts.........
*
i am so sorry if i lie to you because i thought you say it.

vios... no point tukarlah unless you are one of those guys who must change cars after x no of years......
toyota has been using cvt's for quite a while.... reliability sama je when compared to nissan's cvt so should be fine (u have to find out what oils they use, afaik nissan uses something a little bit more exp)

city is a good car imo you should reconsider this, just ignore the other variations since you will go for the top spec anyway

suprima is alright but.... its not really japanese while the inspira is mostly japanese
-good safety features, performance ok, looks alright, rides nice and for you.. its larrrrge

mazda 2 is more of a small sporty car.... u really have to check if its large enough for you. This is the smallest (or 2nd smallest) in your list....
*
well i have nothing to say right now because i will still stick with proton iriz 1.6 exec mt.

I take flunce into my consideration because of the Nissan sylphy and Xtronic CVT. but yea, FC, tax and other really taking up a lot.

I ruled out Vios because of the 1NZFE. I might as well no need to change car if I buy current vios. Unless I can wait the new engine but its CVT. I don't know their CVT as good as Nissan or not...

I ruled out Honda because of too much variation. I usually go for heist spec and change car in around 10 or 15 years usage like current one. Mid spec lacking toys high spec 93K, which make me think M2>HC.

I try to rule out attrage also because the FL is coming. But don't know when lol. And I can take the remaining 30K do something else lol and they rebate 12k too!

last resort if pick p1, I will also go for SS premium.

Looks like M2 is the best B seg.

BUT BUT BUT. Mazda Demio is the "Supermini". THe more I look at the more I felt it is very small. damnnnnnnnnnn

actually if you ask me.

In P1, the price will be lagging around 10k. thus go for the high segment will actually do.

Iris 1.6 premium how much again?

SS 1.6 turbo and lotus handling.
*
if you want proton iriz premium, the manual transmission will cost around RM59,880.00 / Metallic
RM59,430.00 / Solid. If you do not mind with audible noise of cvt,it will cost around RM62,480.00 / Metallic
RM62,030.00 / Solid.
