Hey guys, my distance to empty is showing 500km.

Doesn't look good for consumption. What are your consumption figures?
*
8.4km/l at this moment.

12.1km/l based on the meter.
based on calculation by tank capacity vs remaining to empty + travelled = 10.8km/l

Just drove around 150KM since first topup. On board computer shows around 14.1km/l. I'm keeping the tachometer between 2k-2.5k rpm for the first 300km. I'll whack the car a bit more after that - just my ritual for breaking in a new car smile.gif using Shell V-Power 97 (not racing)

Initial stage is like this. After engine break-in period will be better :-)

What's your mileage so far?

Mine is only 6.5km/l and mileage is 120km.

Using Shell V-power 97. No spirited driving yet.

200km's in tongue.gif I took it and whack highway - 160kms - very stable, didn't notice i went so fast

Kept it not more than 3000 RPM

otherwise, its daily grind, slight 20km grind in the morning to the office, smooth home - due to ramadan

I also use the park brake a lot. Of which i start to notice sounds coming when i disengage from it (i.e. throttle from red)

How to check tire pressure? You check yourself using tire gage?
*
Go to a petrol station air pump station. You slot it in, the pump gauge will show what is the current tyre air pressure. Some pumps can auto bleed the air out, but some don't. So you just press the middle pin of the tyre air valve to let the air out.

You can drive anywhere and anyhow you want, modern cars don't really need to follow bulat bulat on breaking in already. Modern materials sciences and engineering solved that.

Just enjoy the car and follow the service schedule.

Ur tire pressure is probably at 43psi. Reduce it to the recommended pressure which is 32psi.

U'll feel the difference in cornering, road noise and also ride comfort. Also allow the tire to break in for further improvements.
*
the front and rear tire pressure also the same 32psi ?

Turbo engine with 220nm torque from 1700rpm not really need to rev the engine high.. can easily go up genting. So wont really stress the engine. Unlike N/A engine really need to rev 4k-5k rpm to go up.. Went up genting once with my frz Golf 1.4TSI.. Relax saja with plenty of power to go up unlike my Honda City scream until engine going to burst and still moving up slowly.. shakehead.gif

Exactly! A lot of that 'breaking in' is for older generation cars.

Just ensure no hard acceleration and braking for the first 1,000km. Keep RPM to max 3,000 and speed below 150kmph. And you should be fine. Ull cover 1,000km fast enough.

Most important is the first service cuz u need the first change of engine oil. After that whack the car as hard as u wish. biggrin.gif

Yes. but if u drive frequently at 160km/h, u'll need to increase about 2 psi.

Honda SC don't have tire shop facilities so I doubt they will.

usopkun I checked myself. I also went to tire shop to check alignment. Alignment and camber was off. Adjusted them and handling now is so much better and confident.

The only thing I'm still getting used to is the low end torque. It feels like slingshot. Fun! brows.gif
*
Tire shop so fast got the correct toe, camber and caster spec for the Civic X ?... sure or not, or they hentam use another model year

Anyway, when I go for alignment, I ask them to do it to the specifications taken from the workshop manual, not the machine. So even if machine show red, I don't care. So far I've never found a shop which has a machine which software has my exact model pre-programmed.

Why no good.. most 2.0L get 280 - 350 km per full tank in city driving.
Now you have 2.4L NA performance and still get ~500 km, that's extremely good to me.

I don't see why not. Just no sustained red-line of the RPM like you're drag racing

Plus I've read that Honda has included oil jets to ensure good lubrication of the pistons and wrist pins for this 1.5L turbo.
Oil jets are normally part of their Type-R engine but previously not included for their normal engines.

I don't think there is any oil change during the first maintenance. First oil change is due on 10k service. Or will you request to do an oil change?

If I'm not mistaken, the tyre pressure sticker on the driver side door says:

Below 160km/h
220 kpa (32 PSI) both front and rear

Above 160km/h
240 kpa (35 PSI) front, 230 kpa (33 PSI) rear.

The torque curve starts at 1,700RPM right? So max torque is only reached at 5,500RPM.
