But bro...the street prices of these new 720p projectors could be a cool 25% cheaper than what we paid for the TW700..... for those with budget about RM4K can considerlah.

Grown ups watching Cars quietly... priceless.  Incidently I watched it with my kids last Saturday afternoon..... again.  I must have seen it 15 times now... can almost recite the dialogue along with the characters, I know my daughters can!

Ka-chow!!

Ya la... I know what u are trying to say. But u know, sometimes, due to too rush, we end up getting something half the quality but only 10% cheaper. Then, after sometime when pocket a bit full, we start t regret again. Just like m digital camera. Before I got my 1st DSLR, I say to myself that any DSLR will do. But after got it, and tried another one, I regret until today. Sell bukan, throw bukan, use also bukan. How?

If someone can talk about projectors, their pocket usually got a bit of money la. Salary also if not RM1000, also got RM1050 one (this is me). So, why not wait another month or 2 and get a better and tested unit? Instead of spending that money, later end up with a monster?

See bro Tim,

If you change your mind set and dont compare you ll be doing de same ... biggrin.gif
Well at least theres less  problems wif de epson then de panny... of tat you have to agree...

Yup... I got to agree with u. Adjusting is easier. But I don't like th remote and menu. A bit too messy.

Might go to Mediaplex again tomorrow to see the Oh so wonderful HD1 again. I love that baby wub.gif

Hmm, I wonder if the Sony VPL-AW15 will be better than the HD70. Projectorreview's review was a bit 'so-so' for this projector. Ain't bright enough, good for screens before 100", but the blacks were good for a projector at this price point. It didn't get a hot product award though. Sad.

Wow, diden know you thought like this. I understand what you mean. So to all would be HT Projector buyers... the advise here is to stretch your RM further and get something you won't regret.

Tim/dirtrun and other TW700 owners, if you are experiencing a lot of noise/grain with the projector while using HDMI, keeping the component cables plugged in may help to remove the noise and grain. A fellow TW700 owner recently reported this over at avsforums. Read it here.

Have fun tweaking....

To the TW700 owners,

My Avia HT Guide arrived and I spent a couple of hours calibrating my Projector as well as the sound. The DVD presentation itself is really boring. SO I went directly to the calibrating sections.

Factory settings on the projector was spot on, but I did make some minor changes:
1. White Balance +1
2. Colour Saturation +3, had to dial up the red. Green was OK.

Overall I feel the picture is just a touch more natural. Guess the main benefit is the peace of mind that the projector is performing at its peak operating level. rclxms.gif

Sound was fairly flat except for some peaks around 90, 60 and 40Hz. I calibrated the speakers to around 75-80db, balanced all round, except the subwoofer which was around 90db. (ceiling boards rattling at 35hz, CD/equipment rack rattling at 20-25Hz)

Finally decided on Krell KAV-400xi 2 channel amp for the fronts. Got a really good price for it. will go there again today to see hazel again wub.gif .

As well as finalising the products. then sometime this week the payment should be in, and the theater refurbishing should be underway.

Kennot have the RCAs hanging in free air..... if not connected then you are not grounding the projector at all.

If its really a gounding problem, then just have the one or all three RCAs plugged to the earth socket on the wall.  See if this solves the problem.
psp, none of us can keep up with you.  Who is Hazel?

Krell amps... hmmm...they are oklah.... but who am I to complain.. since kennot afford oso.

I am so lazy that I have yet to get my subcon to do the bracket. Haiz...
I got so many things to do... haiz.
Arrgghhh...

Oh, guys, where do you get your source of DVD? The Ori seems too expensib for me. Come on guys... whre where? I need a reliable source. My current source in Sibu... well, since the government is microscoping Sibu (gangster wipe out-Bukit Aman style), many of the ahem shops are on really low profile. So, I guess I won't be able to get my sources from there. Any other suggestions? A place that I can get disc to disc copy from Ori. Not those RM7 which they deleted the Special Features or recorded from master copy or something?

Or... if you all planning to buy from USA and can buy many at low price and can get through Custom... do let me know. Arrggghhh...

I have not tried the settings as mentioned by the forummers at AVS. After running Avia, I don't see the need to.... well unless I get really bored with nothing else better to do. I was hoping that you would have tried it out and tell me if it was wort a try!!

Sibu used to have lotsa nice D9s. All full version. Heard from the shop owner, the DVDs are from Vietnam.

But recently, they stopped as the raid was getting worse.

You can ask Jason about the Cars I got from there. How good was good... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
