Well I heard that they will keep the good and rare titles for online sales, not sure it's true or not, since their current official website was like shakehead.gif
*
you might be right, they're not going to let go their new & best-sellers with simply offering dirt cheap price... but having said that, the sale of newer 4K & blu-ray titles with only 20% off might be correct because it is not that cheap if compared to amazon's black friday sale prices for example... hmm.gif and yeah, i agree.... their website is one of the shittiest, i think the titles they offered in there were not updated in months. imagine only 43 blu-rays & four...you heard it right; only four 4K titles available to be sold!?!! doh.gif

I'm quite sad after received this news yesterday morning, guess that it's really the time to move on...
Anyway can't beat the physical media store shopping experience, those were the days...
*
likewise... although i’m not really a “speedy” type of person, i share your sentiments regarding physical media in-store shopping experience; it can’t be compared to the ‘straightforward’ online shopping. i guess we will miss those shelf browsing excitement... and that goes to buying CDs too blush.gif

I was at 1U last weekend to get my hands on some 4K Blurays I missed out throughout 2019 and during the MCO. Disappointingly there wasn't anything too new. The more recent titles I got was only Terminator Dark Fate and Spider-Man Far From Home. Those were full price when I went there. Of course that was before the Speedy closure announcement on Monday. They also had a buy 2 for RM199 deal for select titles. I got Mission Impossible Fallout, Deadpool 2, Detective Pikachu, Toy Story 4, Shazam, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Lego Movie 2, and Ant-Man 2.

I also checked the Subang Parade branch, but they didn't have the RM199 deal for 4K Blurays. And there's no further discount on 4K Blurays too. They did have some unwanted Blurays selling for RM35 for 7 or something. I was hoping to find John Wick 3 or something more recent. But I guess they already stopped bringing in new movies for a while now.

ya lah, same here too... watching netflix is much easier to access. but while there are pros, there are also cons too. like yesterday, since jumanji next level just being added to netflix, so i planned to binge watch all three jumanjis... but to my surprise, jumanji welcome to the jungle has already been removed..!! doh.gif

actually i was kind of half-hearted to go to speedy even though with the sales because i already knew what they're selling... mostly not in my list. well; unless if the price go down really dirt cheap then probably i will be interested. but if based on the price range offered, they're not really that cheap... at least not to my price requirement threshold for me to buy. understandably, they also have no intentions of bringing in latest titles since they're closing down for sure...

btw thanks for sharing your insights and experience going to both outlets thumbup.gif

i went to SPEEDY at Subang Parade yesterday evening and bought these two titles – Puss in Boots (BD) & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (3D-BD) for RM10 each... not bad deal at all! thumbup.gif actually i took the Puss in Boots 3D-BD but the sales lady told me that this release only comes in 3D disc only without the normal blu-ray, so she allowed me to take the normal BD from the 7 BD for RM35 selection instead.

i want to get Shrek 2 & Shrek The Third (both 3D) for RM10 each too... but there is no Shrek & Shrek Forever After for a complete set, so i pass... cool2.gif

nothing much for the 7 BD for RM35 ones... sad.gif maybe can check at One Utama again later this week...
